Default 9mm Coated lead

With the 8" of snow outside, decided to sit down and get acquainted with the
new bullets and log their height, dia. and other stuff you do to kill time.

The .356 and .357 dia. bullets were no problem but the larger
.358" dia. needed the die adjusted to bell the case more to let
it seat without a hassle, even though it had a light bevel on the
base. Better safe than sorry.

Minimum oal is 1.06" and I also did a 1.12" that is pretty standard
with the factory ammo found on the shelves today along with
my long target measurement of 1.165" that I use for my sub-sonic
loads, I am getting a picture of what the loads will look like.

I have yet to do the "Plunk Test" with them but it will happen soon
before I even drop any powder into a case.
I did notice quite a difference in Hodgdon and Lymans load data
but will work around that and see where my five powders being
tested fall with a100% volume with the short case and what it
takes to fill the maximum length oal, if it stays in the safe zone.

Will be trying for light target 950fps to target speeds of around
1050 +/- if they work out but a little higher with the 125gr bullet
is not going to hurt any thing if that is where the accuracy is.

A lot of good powder choices for that vel range. I like RedDot & WST for 1050fps loads. I just started working with Ramshot Comp, another good choice it looks like. W231/HP38 is a work horse at that vel level & often gives good results. You can go slower, like WSF or Unique, but for that vel level, W231 is as slow as I would go to keep good combustion going, cleaner burning.
