44 Dies, please forgive my ignorance
Hello reloaders. Some time ago I acquired a Dillon progressive press. I was, and remain an absolute beginner. The person I received the press from set it up for me to reload .357, and after an initial batch of 250 rounds, I haven't reloaded any since. My plan was to read and learn, and reload along the way. Then a bunch of things happened, I wasn't shooting much, and I never got back to reloading. I'm shooting again, but mostly 9mm for the time being.
Anyway, I received the dies in the attached photo with the press. I was told they were for 44 (indeed several pieces are stamped as such), and should I ever have a gun chambered for that caliber, I could switch over. Well I am fairly certain I never will, and have decided to sell these pieces to a better home. I don't know what to ask for them, or even what I have here. Any help with ID and value would be appreciated. I will list them in the classifieds on these forums.

Look on the Dillon website, in the section for YOUR specific press model, for the caliber change kit, be sure you have all the pieces, and read the list price. I can tell you right now the primer slide (large primer) is NOT part of the change kit, and you should keep that. The press comes with both large and small primer slides.

1-800-223-4570 is Dillon's toll free phone number. they give you a free subscription to "The Blue Press", from that you can see what new die sets cost, then ask whatever you want, but I never pay over $15 for used standard die sets or 50% for used specialty die sets (like Square Deal B dies). You can list them for sale in the WTS (Wanted; to Sell) section of this forum, just read the rules first! Other forums have similar areas to sell, buy or trade. Since 9mm is so common in reloading, you might trade your 44's for 9mm's.

That looks like a setup for the Square Deal B. They won't work in any other press, but there are plenty of SDB presses out there.

"Well I am fairly certain I never will" Never say never.
eBay is a good place to sell. Or you might just hang onto the .44 dies against the possibility you might acquire a .44 revolver in the future.
