Nosler 124 gr. 9mm
Anyone have load data on the above bullet using CFE pistol. Naturally none of my manuals and Hodgdon book have info on this power. BTW I have used it with Sierra 125s and does it burn clean!!!!

Personally, I would consider a 124 and a 125 grain bullet the same. Also brand would not enter into the pic. as long as they are same type(jacketed verses lead). I don't load anything near max, so any slight difference would not create a pressure problem. And I generally load almost as long as magazine and chamber will allow which keeps pressure a little lower. Since you have used the powder with a 125, I would not hesitate to just swap bullets with same powder charge.

If it's same profile bullet (doesn't require you to sit bullet much deeper) I'd use same data.

The sierra is a fmj round nose, the nosler is a jacketed hollow point

Use the FMJ data, start low and work up as normal. Use your barrel chamber as your guide for OAL. Same as with any other round/bullet combination...

The change of seating depth may cause you problems. If one is a FMJ, and the other is a JHP the OAL will be considerably different. I use a JHP 124 Gr. and seat to 1.069 over 4.2 gr CFE Pistol, shich is straight out of the Hornady manual. The FMJ might need to be seated out to 1.115 to 1.125. Seating depth (OAL) can be critical with the small cases such as the 9mm. You are working with some pretty good pressures, and incorrect seating can greatly increase that.

The Nosler site has their 124gr set up at a 1.12" OAL.
A 124gr JHP SpeerGold dot at 1.12" oal and 5.5grs of CFE
in my 3.5" C9 only got 1084fps.
Same fps +/- with Red Dot and Green Dot.
CFE is not up to par with Unique in the fps department but.....
does make a heck of a nice accurate target load with plated bullets.
Good luck.
