Default S&W 686, Titegroup, 125 gr MBC hi-Tek coated lead

I made up 14 loads each of 5, 6, & 7 grains of Titegroup.

5 grains were more accurate for me but that could have been because of lesser recoil. The recoil for 7 grains was not as much as say federal or Perfecta factory loads. Most importantly, primers were not deformed and there was no noticible leading after shooting all 3 loads. I figure around 1300 fps for the 7 grain loads. My 686 has a 3" barrel and I was using CCI 500 primers. The bullet diameter was .358.

I personally don't like trying to gain " magnum " performance using real fast burning powders . Titegroup has the same burn rate as Bullseye , which is very fast . They get real " spikey " quickly when pushed too hard.
Nothing any faster burning than unique / universal is my recommendation . But to each his own .

If you have any medium fast ( 231) or medium powders (CFE)
at hand......

You might see if they might also work with that bullet with a load at the starting load in your manuals or a little higher.

I have even had the very slow HS-6 powder work at around 1020fps.

Good loading.
