Default Ballistics App

Not sure if this should go here or in The Lounge......

Do folks have recommendations for a ballistics app for the phone? I'm an Android user.

I'd like something simple that allows me to choose caliber, bullet weight, velocity and sight-in distance. Most of them then have the ability to enter atmospheric conditions, etc. But those are 2nd on my priority list.

I especially would like to get a table format - so I could see 'X" high at 100 for an on-target at 200."

There are a number out there that cost $, but I'd prefer free.

What are people using?

Thanks.

I have the "Shooter" app on my I-phone. It has the features you mentioned along with several more. I think it was $10.00 at the App store.

You could try Strelok for free.

I've never used it, but it has good ratings.

I gave Strelok a try. It didn't align with how I think.

I decided to spring for Shooter and - so far - it looks really good. I like the interface and how things work. It will be fun to load it up with the various loads I load. Couple that with chrony data and hopefully it'll provide some accurate info.

Thanks!

the really good apps require really good input. Exact MUZZLE velocity, most people have velocity at 10 or 15 feet. You also need very good barometer readings and a pretty good temperature reading and a good compass reading, as well as altitude. (and all the bullet data) Once you have all that, for that load and gun, you can get accurate "Dope" for your scope! within fractions of an inch to 1000 yards or whatever distance limits the program has! Sierra's limit is when the bullet drop reaches 45 degrees (on rifles that is a loooong way!)

I know you've already bought an app, but Lapua recently came out with a free app you can download starting here.

I have Brian Litz's app, but I did DL the Lapua one and couldn't get it to work right.

So if it doesn't work, why am I telling you about it? Two reasons: it may by now, and it will work eventually.

Berger Bullets has one on its website. You have to know the ballistic coefficient of your bullet (if it's a Berger, just plug in its part number) and muzzle velocity. You can also enter the wind, temperature and elevation but you aren't concerned about those elements. It will give you exterior ballistics as often as every 50 yards out to 1,000 yards.
