Has anyone seen any gel test results for the above bullet?

My 357 mag are loaded with 13.5 grains of H110 and I wonder if BNH=18 will expand with a muzzle velocity of 1400 fps.

you need to provide more information - bullet profile?

I cast my own 180 gr cast bullets . Wheel weights , water cooled , RNFP design and yes they expand out some . My tests showed a stiffer charge (slightly compressed) of H110 / W296 and a small pistol magnum primer gave better performance than current load data . I was using a S&W 28 , 6" barrel . I don't have a chronograph to verify the velocity . Your results may vary !

I'm using a 20" barrel Henry Big Boy 357 mag. 1400 fps is an estimate based on Hodgdon data for a FMJ. Using 13 grains of H110.

Great hunting bullet. They do expand at the nose end of the bullet, but don't 'mushroom', more of a smashed in nose type thing. The flat point makes a big difference compared to the round nose, that seem to 'distort' more than 'expand'. 18 brinell seems a little too hard to get much expansion, a softer bullet would expand more. I would think that the addition of a hollow point on a bullet like this would make it even meaner than it already is.

In a word, NO. It might deform or mash a bit, but too hard for true expansion.

Well, I've bought a bunch of wheel weights. I'm thinking they will be in the range of 14 to 16. Plus that will give me something I haven't done in a long long time.
