I'm a first time S&W handgun owner. Both magazines that came with my new M2.0 have line drawn across the bullet seat (not sure exactly what its called) with what looks like a sharpie. I'm just wondering why S&W did this?

i think you are talking about the magazine follower & not sure why they draw a line on them but i have heard it is part of quality control

When you see the line you are out of bullets.

I don't know why that line is there but the two guns I've bought new had it on the followers. The factory replacement mags I've seen don't have the line.

I was wondering why this was in the reloading section...but now I'm thinking he was thinking reloading the magazine .

Sharkfisher, no dumb questions , just questions and we will try to answer. Is the line drawn on the outside of the magazine body?
A photo of this would sure help...I'm at a loss.

Line on the top of the follower is normal for mags that come with the gun, replacement mags don't have it. It's probably some kind of quality control thing (like the marks the put on cars when they are getting built) If I had to guess, I think it means that someone put the mags in the gun, cycled the slide to verify that it locks the slide back. But this is just a guess.

I figured it was quality control too for something. Just wondering if someone knew exactly what it was for. No big deal
