Default 9.5 Grain BE-86, 250 Grain RNFP, .45 Colt, S&W 625-3 Velocities

Just an FYI:
Recently, I loaded up some .45 Colt. 250 gr cast RNFP on top of 9.5 gr Alliant BE-86. It is quite accurate through my revolver. Today, I fired a short string of 5 through my "semi-Frankenstein" 625-3 and over the chronograph. This gun was originally a .45 ACP and sometime before I purchased it the prior owner had the cylinder converted to .45 Colt. The barrel is just shy of 4" because it was shortened to fit the larger .45 Colt cylinder.

The velocity figures are as follows:

LOW- 891 fps
HI- 923 fps
AVE- 909 fps

Default BE-86 and 45 Colt

Thanks for the data! I've grown tired of Unique's inconsistent metering (for me) thru my Lyman 55 and Hornady LnL, so I bought some BE-86 to try in my Model 25-5 and -9, which are 8-3/8" and 6" respectively. I expect something a little different than your results, but I'll post the data when I shoot them.
BTW, whose bullet were you loading?
Always glad to see load data over a chrono along with the gun data. Thanks again for posting.

I basically use just 2 powders in my model 25's . I use 8.0 grs of Ramshot Zip and 9.0-10grs of Winchester Super Field , both loads under a 255 gr cast bullet . I use the Lee 45-255 RNF and the Keith HG 501.
Ramshot Zip is what I use in the 45 clones as well . Very mild recoil yet very flat trajectory . My BIL refuses to shot unique powder once I started him on the Ramshot Zip load in his colt clone . I even shoot that same load in my Rossi M92 in 45 Colt . My WSF loads are great for a little more power , laser accurate and shoot very very clean .

Does anyone else have velocity information with .45 Colt and BE-86?
