Blazer Brass
I recently bought and shot some Blazer Ammo for my 45. I was resizing and cleaning the brass today and found that the flash hole is not uniform and larger than my other 45 brass. Has anybody else seen this and is it still reloadable?

Blazer is not put out as quality, champion, match grade ammo...............
Otherwise you would be paying $1.25 a round or more.

I've reloaded a lot of Blazer .45 ACP without any problems. I usually load a 200 grain Plated Semi-Wadcutter pushed with 4.2 grains of Bullseye.

The new Blazer Brass has small primer pockets. Did yours have large primers?

As stated above the newer 45 ammo has small primer pockets but that's been out for awhile too. The flash hole not being uniform as in a perfect circle is not an issue. I reload 9, 40, 45 Blazer brass with no issues using X-treme FMJ. What I have found is Blazer brass is a touch softer and or thinner by a couple of thousandths in comparison to Sellier Bellot/Winchester brass. The Blazer performs very nice thru my Dillion 550B and all my autos. Tumble them, load them up, and have at it!
Ref: I don't dress the primer pockets in those calibers. I do for the magnum and rifle cartridges and also use a flash hole chamfer tool just to clean those up a bit. I only feed my N frames the most loving ammo I can produce :-)

The biggest problem I have with the 45ACP is separating the small primer pocket stuff from the large. But I've finally gotten enough so I can just do a dedicated run of small primer ammunition.
Some of the primer pockets are a little out of round but the stuff loads and shoots OK. I don't use that stuff for other than plinking ammo.
If you go that route and also shoot .223 then you can stock just small rifle primers and really simplify your supply chain.

Ain't that the truth when a small one gets into the large mix on a progressive. I still look at every hole prior to sticking it in. Ummm that may not have come out quite right...LOL

Blazer and cci 45acp brass are the same to me. The stuff is like an old tire, you just can't wear them out.
I wouldn't worry about the flash holes. Most low grade/quality brass is like that. Not being a smart ask. But, that's why they sell flash hole uniforming tools.
Ya, been putting aside the sp 45acp's for now. If i didn't shoot so many 44spl's/44mag's I'd probably change over to sp primered 45acp's.

Blazer like some other brass have the flash hole punched during production. This tends to be less desirable than drilled but functions quite well. If you are not shooting high stakes matches, don't worry about it.

I was working to make the flash holes uniform when I found the problem. Blazer Brass are larger than my tool, so without boring them out more my only option was to leave them.

Small and large primers and 4 different flash holes. I keep mine separated. It was a bad cold day and I was bored about 12 years ago and it took a 12 pack or so and 4 hours to sort most of my brass while watching a ball game. It is a pain when someone is shooting close to you when you pick up your brass. I like the older brass. All 6000 rounds of it. Blazer-CCI-and the newer Federal go into a different drawer. Nothing wrong with it. Small primers go into another.

Can't speak for anybody else, but I'm reluctant to use rifle primers in a pistol cartridge.

I use a case feeder on my 650, so if i miss a sp case, i keep sized/deprimed cases on the side for a quick swap @ stn 2.
