Dillon ammo bin question?
I have a 650 and it came with an itty bitty ammo bin to collect completed cartridges. No so good for large cartridges. Does the larger bin that comes with the 1050 fit on the 650's hanger? Is their a 3rd party that makes larger bins?

Any bin with a lip will fit the hanger on any of the Dillon presses. I am fine with the bin size, just empty when it is full?

My press (550b) is on a Strong Mount, so I took the 4"x4" size ammo bin and cut the floor out of the front half. This allows it to work as a chute into 50 Caliber ammo cans. When loading, a few handgun cartridges pile up at the rear, then that allows the next 1000 to slide right into the ammo can. Works for 30 Caliber ammo cans also. I'm 61 now and don't enjoy moving a full 50 cal. can, so I only fill the about half way (which is about the same weight as a 30 cal. can that is full. This should work for the 650 also. I have a friend with an old 1000RL, it was high enough from the factory to use ammo cans to start with and never saw him use anything else.
When I bought mine originally it was a 450 and mounted directly on the loading bench, the bracket that came with it held the ammo bin to the front of the bench a few inches. I built a shelf to hold ammo cans bellow it and had a similarly modified 4"x4" ammo bin for that set-up.
While I own about Twenty of the huge 20mm ammo cans, I only made the mistake of filling one with small arms ammo (2000 rounds of 8x50R Label on machine gun stripers), that was almost too much to carry when I was 35!

Go to the hardware store, (a real one),
Lots of sizes of, bins, with the same lip design.
Then, note the hanger of the bin, design.
Pick up a piece of thick Alum, or a steel piece,
(A Real Hardware store will have all sorts)
I put a, ‘hanger’, all the way across the edge on my bench.
and have several different size bins,
and can have as many as I want, and position them wherever I want.

Various size bins are sold in mail-order, hardware and discount big-box places like the one that sells Freight from the Harbor. Not all are in Dillon blue, though.

I've added a larger Acro bin (blue as well) to my 650 that I purchased after finding the one it came with is a bit small and was a pain to keep emptying. Now I can get around 150 rounds of .45 acp and about 200 rounds of .38 Special in it before dumping it into a wooden box to be sorted out into individual boxes later. The original box held about half of that.
I bought a few of them so that I can also just swap out the bin without even dumping them into a larger container if so desired.

You can also purchase additional bins from Dillon - either as singles or a six pack. Just change bins as they get full. I just ordered six for around $20.

I'm trying to reduce the number of bin changes by using larger bins. When I get into a rythum I can have a completed round about every three or four seconds. Obviously ammo piles up rather quickly at that rate. Breaking my rythum to empty / change bins is annoying, and I'd like to reduce it. That's primarily why I was asking about capatibility of larger bins.
