Trail Boss powder
I have not seen Trail Boss powder for two years. Has anyone seen this powder on the gun shop shelves?

I have recently in one local gun shop and at a gun show or two within the last month. Of course I don't know how recent the production was.

My local Sportsman's Warehouse has stocked it for quite a while.

All the stores in Reno have it at $19 for 9 oz - that's all that'll fit in a 1 pound can. Been tempted to try it in the 500.

Take at look at Hodgdon's Reloading data first, for example, to see if it fills your needs. They only list two bullet weights (both gas checked) & the max loads average just 20K PSI. Hard for me to justify buying a 500 & reloading it for that.

I only use TB in old gun's like 38 S&W, 32 S&W, old 32-20 revolver.
See no reason to use TB in my 500 Magnum.
There are other powders for not max loads.

3.5 grains behind a 125 grain powder coated bullet is a fun load to shot in my 686 s&w. That's about 1.3 cents worth of powder per round. That was the first powder I bought because of concern for double charges. 5.5 grains is the most you can get in a 357 mag case. Also 5.5 grains is pretty accurate in my Henry 357. I wouldn't use it on hogs as a normal rule!

Seems now that there is a new guy in office, there is powder
springing up all over the place.
Before Christmas Cabela's was looking pretty good and just
the other day in down town Reno another place had a list of 1,4 and 8 lb
powders that I have not seen in two years.
I think chances of finding "Your Powder" is just a matter of time.
The "Horders" are starting to relax and the powder company's
are at full blast.............
Good luck.

If you're buying powder I suggest you avoid Bass Pro Shops.
Their price is not competitive,it's excessive.

Oh, a possible alternative to TB is Vih't Tin Cup. Low density powder, similar applications. Bit pricey.

A company called Lohman Arms is showing stock on TB right here. They got the 9 oz priced at $16.99 and the 5 lb jug at $129.99. I haven't bought from them before, but I did order an 8 lb jug of 2400 from them Saturday. So hopefully in the coming week I can report how my order went with them.

I have some but don't use it myself. Sell a little here and there. Was talking to a fellow yesterday and he told me he loads it in a Ruger Old Army PB revolver. Don't know as I would do that but he's kilt a few deer with that gun

I just had my local shop order me a couple of cans from a major distributor. They came in within a week or so.
Best powder I've found for getting 125gr cast bullets to shoot softly, accurately and to POA from any range of my 38/57 revolvers.
I'm wondering how it would do in 9mm......

Muddoctor;
Thanks for that site.........
I have two pounds on the way. Reason for two, I will pour one into the other. Any left over will go into my almost empty 3rd jug.
Boy, ol Boy, the lead bullets will be happy now.

I bought 2 bottles of it yesterday at $16.95 each at a pawn shop in Oklahoma. For plinking I should get about 1000 loads per bottle. They only had one out front so the clerk brought out a whole case. I also got a bottle of IMR4227. It was $28! Titegroup too and it was $21. CCI 500 primers were $33 per box of 1000.
