Bucket O Brass
Went to the range this morning to do some plinking. Talked the owner into giving me a bucket of brass.
All the 45 Auto is mine.
But I will be giving away the other calibers in the next month or so. Stay tuned!

No. But I'm sure I could find you one. For a small fee.

Boy, howdy, lots of shorts and longs in that bucket.
You only shoot 45 ?
Are you sure you don't want another caliber ?

At a gunshow a few years ago a guy rented some tables and wheeled in a bunch of mud buckets. All full up with sorted brass. I guess he owned or cleaned up a range. For someone who is brass-poor, it would be a godsend.
In other news, they had a short video on TV yesterday. They were taking out some lead pipe feeding a school. They were making a big deal over the hazards of lead in water. I watched their clip, but was listening for where they took the risky pipe. Looked like it might have weighed a couple of hundred pounds.

Yes! The very best excuse for adding a caliber.
I think I see some .357 in there do a happy dance.

the range i shoot at sells once fired brass to a scrapper....for around $1.40 a pound. I asked the rangemaster if i could buy some 45 acp brass and he agreed to sort some for me. When i picked it up he sold it to me for scrapper price....i got almost 1000 pcs of once fired 45 acp brass for 10 bucks

The indoor range I belong to also sells all their brass as scrap @ $1.50/lb. I bought one 1 gallon pail once for $12.00. Mostly 40 & 45 cal. I have amassed so much brass since then, I don't bother buying anymore. The outdoor range I go to, the brass is free for the taking, if you want to dig it out of the barrel-I do, and seem to be the only one that does. What I can't use, I trade or give away to my buddies who reload. Needless to say, I'm their "best" buddy! LOL :-)

I've picked up about 3000 pcs of 9mm off the ground at my club since December. Also about 500 pcs 40 S&W and some 45 acp. I'm probably going to make another sweep this weekend, should gain another 1000 pcs give or take but in all honesty I have plenty of brass, especially 9mm, probably in excess of 25K pcs.
I wanted to get that kind of buffer so that when I shoot lost brass matches I'm not freaking out about losing all of my brass.

When I started shooting in the '70s,you'd pick up .38Spl brass as much as you wanted to.Nowadays, same thing but with 9mm brass .38brass is seen as often as you see an Esquimau guy in Florida sunbathing by the pool.Must be that the times they are achangin'.
