I'm happy to hear you found a good load but I think I would get sick every time I pull the trigger when the bullets used in the ammo were over $1.30 each. Ouch lol...

l remember shooting some 0riginal Super Vel 180gr 44 Magnum ammo
purchased from Wideners Arms here in Augusta Ga maybe late 70s.
As l was also shooting IHMSA Silhs then with a S&W Model 29 w/8''bbl.
our match director had just gotten an 0ehler Chronograph. We clocked
some of those SV 180gr 44s in my 29.. Avg velocity was 1803fps!!!

My standard load for my Classic DX, 8-3/8": 210gr. Rem. JHP over 26.5gr. H110, avg. vel. = 1687 fps. So all of the above sounds about right to me. The longer barrel may make a considerable difference, however.
This is a comfortable shooting load, also.
Regards,
Andy

I can't help it, $3.98 for only 3 rounds makes me cringe. That's only me but I have a feeling I'm not the only one here!
I didn't see the round count anywhere in this thread. What will these rounds be used for?

We started with 18 then 22 then 25 then 26. I can't say that I ever considered the cost. Not really an issue. Wanna dance..ya gotta play the juke box. Just thought ya'll might be interested. Pretty impressive out of a 4 inch 629. What are they for??? Why for shooting of course.

Those bullets look and (from the description) SOUND pretty nasty. Cooking along at those kinds of speeds they ought to be pretty devastating. To me these sound more like elk or mule deer hunting loads for shooting out of a lever gun.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not putting you down and Saud I was happy you found a load you like. I'm just too, ummm, "frugal" to spend that on bullets. It's just me, not you...

Folks, I'm old. I get things wrong on occasion. Certain that never happens to anybody but me. My Partner at B&M corrected me. the 1,749 fps was at 25 grains of 2400. When we went to 26 the velocity was 1,860 fps. That out of a 4 inch 29 over Dopplar Radar at our 50 yard indoor range.
