Default 357 J frame load

What would you consider a good load using a PB bullet 156 gr Lyman 358156 using 357 Magnum brass. I don't have any GC for this mold.
I molded a few hundred today.
Trying to duplicate the BB +P load
Closes I can find is 11 gr of 2400.
Don't want to lead the barrel if possible.

That 11grs is bare bones and should net around 999fps.....
a guess without the barrel length.

You can use half as much powder, if you have any Unique on hand.

Wasn't that bullet, the 358156 and 13.5 grains of 2400 a load favored by Skeeter Skelton?

Unless you shoot J-frames with heavy loads a great deal, 13.5 grs. #2400 will be a punishing load to shoot. Try the more sensible 11 grains first, it will be plenty stout.

I've found that generally, a gas check design will work better with a gas check affixed, but it won't hurt to try it without.

Not familiar with 357 loads other than my own (160 gr LSWC and Universal), but make sure the lead bullets are the same diameter as the cylinder throats for minimal leading.
