I Came Close Today
I've been trying for several months to accomplish a goal I set. I want to place 50 shots inside a 6 in. bullseye at 25 yds. two hands standing. This is not much of a challenge for some but for me it isn't easy. Today I came close, this is with Federal brass, Win.LPP, 5.o gr. HP-38, Zero 200 gr. LSWC. I was shooting a box stock S/A Mil-Spec 1911. One of these days.

That's a commendable goal, particularly so at 25 yards.

If you ever had to defend yourself, your opponent would be a pretty sick boy.

Good shooting. A very good goal to have, particularly with the sights on a stock gi model. Keep after it!

Looking good. It's a shame you'll just have to shoot more to get better right?

It's a great goal. I'm confident I could not do as well as what you posted. I'm going to try to attempt the same thing. It's a great idea and method to check consistency.
Thanks!

I would be proud of that....
...many people here can chew the bullseye clean out under those conditions, but I would be really proud to claim that.

Group is centered and random, left to right is perfect, 4 shots high, 2 shots low -- OUTSTANDING. and with a stock mil-spec pistol!

To me, that's fantastic! 30 ft would be my distance to attempt something like that. I see 5 misses with your target, great!

It is good to do a little old-fashioned Bullseye shooting just for the mental discipline. A bit of long range from time to time is fun too. Hitting a 200 meter ram is impressive, but not as difficult as those #$@@^ turkeys at 175.
With GI ball and a GI 1911, center the bottom of the blade with the top of the notch, then cover a GI E type silhouette with the blade. At 200 meters you should make the target fall about 75% of the time.
It was a good way to win a few bets and shame troops having a hard time on an M16 range back in the day.

With stock sights I doubt if I could do that good. I need a red dot sight and a good trigger job to get any where near that.

That's pretty good shooting. I often have a few zingers where my hold and trigger position weren't intended to fire the gun.
My gun shooting is about like my bowling. I just don't seem to get much better at it. The gun sights seem lined up same as are the alley arrows but the gun and ball have a different sight picture it seems.
I say you shot pretty good. If it had been a BG he would have quit being a threat that's for sure.

That's a lot harder than you think. I used to shoot NRA Bullseye and 50 shots at 25 yards standing at a 6 inch bullseye takes some doing.
Box stock 1911 45acp is not the most accurate or easiest to shoot handgun ....I'm impressed ! I would definitely want you on my side in a fight !
You only had 5 rounds completely out....if a bullet hole touches the line it's scored as a hit... you deserve a big ATTABOY !

That's very impressive with mil-spec 1911 sights. I struggle to keep all with shots within 6" using a Mauser indoors at 25 yards because I can't see the damn sights. Outdoors I do much better.
