Reloading the .32 Long
Picked up a Smith 30-1 in 32 long. I load for everything else I have but never loaded for one of these. Would anyone like to share their favorite
load for this caliber. Nothing hot as it's for the wife to shoot.

A mild load I use in mine, 1.8g bullseye with either a 83g Lapua wadcutter or a Missouri Bullet 100g SWC/FP. Mild and accurate in my Hand Ejector.

You might have a little luck checking out Bullseye forums (Bullseye-L, for instance). .32 Long is sometimes used for the centerfire portion of a 2700 match, in convertible automatics. The trend is towards light and accurate wadcutter loadings.

Another thumbs up for .32 Wadcutter loads......light is good with the .32 Long and really a fun/accurate round to shoot! Now you need to add a K-32 to the mix!!!
I use a European semi-auto for shooting the center-fire bulls-eye portion of matches.
Enjoy!

Colt came out with a copycat cartridge called 32 New Police; 32 S&W case with a 115 grain 32-20 bullet. My S&W 30-1 snubby liked the load, I used Unique 2.0-3.5 grains (I got good but dirty results from 3.5 grains @ 840 fps)
Round nose bullets and Semi-wadcutters share the same load for weight, I used the 90 SWC now discontinued by Hornady, but the Lee bullet mold work almost just as well with WW231 2.5 grains.

The Lyman cast bullet book has many loads. I had a couple of modern S&W revolvers several years ago and mine shot best with cast bullets a bit larger than the Lyman-recommended .312" diameter, but try what is available if you don't cast your own. They may work fine.

The Colt NP featured a SWC bullet the 32 Long a rn for factory loads. I shoot either the Lee 90 gr swc or a lyman cast wadcutter over 2,5 gr Red Dot in my I frame.

The Colt .32 New Police cartridge, as loaded by Remington, used a 100 grain flat point lead bullet, not a semi wadcutter.

The Speer HBWC load is the most accurate, shot from 6" 16-4, but just as accurate from a 2" Pre-30 or a 3 1/4" Pre 30.
