44 Magnum Range Brass
What is the going rate for .44 Magnum range brass. It looks good to me. Mixed headstamps, but no junk. I just don't own a 44, and bought some. Load 5 calibers, just not that. I tried to search it on the internet. Prices are all over. Thanks for your thoughts & ideas in advance. Bob

New from Starline is about 21¢ each. $104/500 delivered.
With that in mind, I wouldn't want to pay more than 6-7 cents each for range brass. Perhaps a bit more for once fired.
When I needed 44Mag brass, I used what little once fired from New factory ammo that I had purchased, and bought a batch of Starline to go with it.

Unprocessed range brass without a clear past is probably worth 5¢ a piece plus shipping. .44 Magnum and 45 Colt brass is probably worth a little more but no more than 6¢ a piece. Of course this is only my opinion.

I pick up a lot of range brass especially after a police shoot. It all goes into a 5 gallon bucket and when full I take it to a metal salvage yard and sell it. Usually I get $40-50 per bucket. For my personal reloading I buy new Starline brass or my once fired 'bought' ammo.

I generally shy away from range brass, in a high (magnum) pressure cartridge.
I'm not rich, but like to have a bunch of brass, that I KNOW the history on.
Spread out over a lot of loadings, it isn't a lot more bucks.

44 mag range brass is a rare find at my range; even more rare is 41 mag. I have come across a precious few now & then, and bought a couple hundred from the range-recovery program. Never had any problem with any of it though.
I'm still reloading some of the 45LC I bought used 30 years ago.

I'm about the same. No more than .06 at max, unless can be certain it is only once fired, then .07. On misc head stamps and uncertain usage I won't make top end loads, only mid range and set aside for range use only. If needed for hunting or other predetermined use, such as a Silhouette match, I only load max in new or once fired brass.

Range brass is usually once fired brass by people who don't reload. That's my experience and view on the subject. I highly prize it.

I have so much range brass in so many calibers that I quit picking it up. But if I saw any .32 Long or .45 Colt, that I would pick up, as it is rare to find those on the ground.

I load 45 longs and rarely find any at the range, only seen a few 10 mm's once and another rareby Sig .357 , one that I load
I have loaded some 45's about 10 times with no bad results, however yesterday I found 25 colts once fired going to retire 25 of the loaded cases
