Smile Reloading for 380 ACP

I am looking to reload 1000 rounds of 380 ACP. I have a Walther PPKS that loves the Sellier and Bellot 92 grains bullets. I purchased 1K 100 grain RNFP Extreme plated bullets. I want to use Alliant Bulls Eye. Does anyone here reload for the 380 ACP? Any load data that comes close to the S&B factory loads?

Safest place to find load data is the Alliant web site.

I have checked Alliance website and I have several reloading manuals. I am interested in something that closely matches the S&B rounds or Pet loads.

Lightbulb Two vital measurements...

Determine the approximate velocity for the preferred S&B loads you admire: should be able to get this from the internet or by a chronograph... I really like that bullet as well as the BERRY'S 100gr FNHB.

Per Hodgdon's you can get around 900fps with 4.0 gr of AutoComp: I'd imagine the S&B factory spec is claimed to be higher, depending upon barrel length.

100GR @ 900fps in a short barrel is plenty for use at the range, IMHO.

CHEERS!

I loaded at least 12 million 380s over the years. Couldn't tell difference in range behavior of plated Berrys or RNL @ 95gr pushed at the top of the various recipes, and back a few grains, all near the top of the given powers in the Hodgdon on-line site.

OK, maybe it was only about 4000 over the years. As annoying as those little suckers are, it just don't make a lick of sense how easy it is to burn them all up in short order.

Tip: make sure whatever recipe you settle with actually works for both accuracy as well as ejection/slide speed/feeding considerations.

Don't ask how I know.

Well I finally loaded these bullets. Loaded 100 rounds first to see how my Walter PPKS liked them. They feed fine, no malfunctions and fairly accurate. So I reloaded the remaining 900. ;-)

That's a nice day's work. Doesn't it feel good to heft that pile?
I load .380 for a 2.75" bbl Sig P238.
Been using 95 and 100 gr plated bullets from Berry and Extreme over 4.9gr AA #5; meters very consistently and gives me 840 fps, which is close to the PMC factory load at 867 fps in my gun. Shoots to point of aim at 7 yds and is very consistent in groups, feeding and extraction, and is pleasant to shoot.

Oh yes, I used 3.0 grains of Bullseye for these. I had not reloaded 380 in over 15 years, maybe more. My PPKS is mainly a safe queen but it is a fun gun to shoot.
