Default Need some 32-20 wcf load data

I notice I didn't have any leverguns in my safe and i got worried so I pjrched a Marlin 1894 CL chambered in 32-20..can't wait to get it..I found it on GunBroker at a good price and snatched it up..
Anyways I never messed around with this cartridge before and have found modern load data to be very scarce..
I have 6 reloading manuals and can't find what I'm looking for..can some please help me out here.

I'm looking for data with these combination
1) ( don't roast me here guys) 100 gr Hornady XTP / using IMR 4227 powder, and Alliant 2400

2) 115 gr FN/FB cast bullets .312 dia. / Using IMR 4227 powder, and Alliant unique powder..
Thanks guys..

I've never used jacketed bullets in my Marlin .32-20, but 4.5 grains Unique works very well with the Lyman 115-120 grain flat nose gas check, sized .312"or .313". Muzzle velocity is just under 1,300 fps.

All of my .32-20 loads use a 100 grain MBC lead flat point and 3.5 grains of Bullseye - but I no longer have any .32-20 rifles, only revolvers. I would not use 2400, IMR4227, or H4227 for any .32-20 loads.

The Lyman cast bullet handbook has lots of rifle loads for both 91 and 115 grain lead bullets, so I'll toss out a few maximum loads for 115 grain lead bullets (24" barrel):
Red Dot - 4.1 grains, 1215 fps
700X - 3.9 grains, 1195 fps
Green Dot - 4.5 grains, 1255 fps
Unique - 5.5 grains, 1390 fps

You might start about 1 grain lower.

The original "Black Powder" rifles were made out of iron for the low pressures.
The newer 1919 models are out of Steel and can have higher pressure loads with modern powders.

Make sure you know what weapon you have, before you load any thing!!

Stay safe.

Default Look on the Hornady site....

They suggest Titegroup, Lil Gun, Trail Boss and HP38 for the 115 gr projectile and Lil Gun and Titegroup for the 110

I'll be sticking with one bullet for now, a cast Lead RN/FB made for the 32-20 .312" dia. 115 gr... I will lightly crimp also.
That is what I picked up..
Tite group
Lil-gun
Trail boss
IMR 4227

I had
HP 38
2400
Unique
H-110

I should find something that shoots with this selection of powder at my finger tips..haha..alot of these powders ive been wanting to try in other cartridges I shoot ..so I would have picked them up anyway...
.

And the rifle is a Marlin 1894 CL 32-20 WCF new..not and antique..im sure I'm safe..having a rifle action blow up in my face isn't something I'm careless about...but ..I know, I know it happens..thank you for the reminder to dbl check what I'm loading, and what it is being shot out of..

I use the Ideal/Lyman 3118 plain base, flat point 115 grain bullet with 3.5 to 4.0 grains of Unique. I don’t consider 4.0 grains a very “hot” load but I had case sticking problems in the chamber of a 32-20 Uberti Winchester Low Wall copy I had. The same 4.0 grain load works fine in both of my Marlins. I’ve tried using up to 4.4 grains of Unique in rifles but it didn’t make them shoot any more accurately.

I thought I had some old targets with 32-20 groups but I can’t find them now so here is a photo of the 32-20 Marlins – The one with the tang sight is a CL and the one with the octagonal barrel is a Cowboy Carbine Ltd.

If anyone has a Bullseye or Unique powder load that they use for both an M&P .32-20 revolver and their rifle I’d like to hear what it is.

Thanks.

I have had a rife like that since around 1995. I use WW 231 (same as HP-38) and trail boss loads. I also have some modern High Velocity loads but use jacketed bullets for them. The old Ideal (Lyman) 3118 bullet mold is the standard, but I bought a Lyman 117 grain w/ Gas Check mold. I find it to be the most used mold I own. I size to the firearm in .308, .309, .311 and .314. I have loaded it in everything from 32 S&W long to 7.62x 54R (plinker loads)

Now days in 32-20 all lead bullets are loaded to "Cowboy" and all jacketed bullets are loaded to High Velocity, so I never put a HV in an antique revolver (1902 S&W and a Police Positive Special from 1919).

I have found 32-20 to be great for varmint hunting to 100+ yards (with a Williams receiver peep sight) and at closer range I take head shots. One year I shot 14 rabbits out of the garden (we ate about 50% of them), as well as a few squirrels and always at war with the raccoons!
