Default Curious anyone using Missouri bullet 45acp 185gr Button?

So I like to try new things all within the range of safety I have been shooting the Missouri Bullet Company's 200gr 45acp SWC 'grooveless' and it shoots well in my 625 revolver and feeds well in my Shield 45.

So this time I ordered the 185gr Button Classic and just wondering if anyone has had experience with this bullet? I know my Shield is not a target gun but I shoot it along with the revolver indoors so I hope the bullet profile feeds well

You might ask on the bulleye.net forum, 185 grain wadcutter bullets are a common bulleye bullet.

I've loaded and fired lots of MBC 185 gr button .45's. I use 5.3 grains of HP-38. This load works well in a variety of 1911's, including a WW II 1911A1. It also is great in revolvers (I use .45 Auto Rim rather than moon clips). I've never tried it in a Shield, but wouldn't hesitate to experiment. A medium load of any fast to moderate burn rate powder should work.

Thank you for sharing your info. My bullets just arrived and loaded up a few to try out. However it appears it may be a non-compatible bullet in my Shield so a little more experimentation is needed in bullet seating depth.
What OAL have you settled with?

These appear to be very similar to the 'button' 185's that a member has for sale, never knew they existed as factory loads.
For sale Remington 45 ACP Targetmaster Ammo - 185g FMJ
The HP38 recipe sounds to be a good one, I'll give that area a try.

My loads with this bullet have a COAL of 1.148 inches. That's not quite seated to the shoulder. Factory loads with a jacketed bullet similar to this have been around since before WW II and have the bullet seated to the shoulder.

My first load of these were seated at 1.16 and would not plunk into my Shield chamber however they shot excellent out of my revolver S&W 625 with HP38 @ 5.4gr and Titegroup @ 4.8gr.
I loaded another batch @ OAL of 1.14 to work in my Shield. That pretty much is just about shoulder flush to the case. I will be curious on how the Shield does with them, so far the Shield 45 has performed well with 200gr SWC's and standard 230gr RN bullets. We will see if it feeds these 185's or not.
I have a 1000 Badman Bullet 200 SWC's due to arrive tomorrow so those are next in line
