I always strive to get the most accurate reloads, with good velocity in my 38/357 Ruger Blackhawk. My load criteria is 925 fps for 38 Special +P with 158 gr SWC,and a strong mid range 357 Mag load of 1,100 fps - all obtaining 50 ft B3 target "black" accuracy. I worked hard and developed loads meeting my requirements.

What has also helped me with checking for reload accuracy was installing Hogue grips on my Ruger Black 4 5/8 inch. I like the Hogues, having big hands they eliminate much of the torque and inconsistency associated with my inability to hold those skinny single action grips. I need all the help I can get - I relied on the Hogues in the past with both 41 and 44 Mags and for me they make a world of difference when shooting my Ruger 357 Blackhawk for accuracy.

Guess I'm just not good enough for those old single action grips even though they look great. I even shot the S&W Magma grips better. The Hogues give me personally the best mileage towards testing reload accuracy.

My J frame snub came with the Hogue OEM grips. Never could hold it right to get it to shoot where I needed it to. Put on a Delta ERGO Grip and that made a major difference! Grip is as ugly as the northbound side of a southbound horse, but that's OK if it means I can hit what I need to.

Good grips, good trigger, and good sights are all important. Even the most inherently accurate gun will be hard to shoot if even one of these items is bad.

Grips are very personal choice, but i went with hogue wood. Most of my revolvers will do 2" or better at 25y offhand. I have avg size hands though, so checkered, std shaped grips do fine for me on my rbh guns.

Hogue grips work on a few of my revolvers but when I was younger
I had no problem shooting accurately with K frames with the
factory, over size wood grips, since I have large hands and enough
muscle strength to handle the 357 magnum recoil.

Now a days, all the craze, is grips with lasers on them....
and suppressers and a eight shot 357 revolver.

All these new "Toys" and me with a bare wallet.

No lasers on my grips...that is pushing it too far for my likes (and my age)

Most inaccurate handgun I ever owned was a .357 Blackhawk. Ironically, the most accurate was a .41 magnum BH. Used the stock grips on both. Tried Pachmayr grips once and didn't like them at all.

I remove the factory rubbers with exposed back strap and put on Pachs. The alloy MP 327 R8 is one of my favorite shooting guns,
