When I first looked at that little bit of Bullseye in that big case I had my doubts as well. I use Campro 240 grain FP plated bullets and out of my 5 1/2" SBH my wife hits a 4 inch steel plate at 30 yards pretty much every shot and she doesn't shoot a lot.

But that 5 gr. Bullseye under Nosler 0.429 240gr JSP
Wow, that worked- most accurate by far.

That's great but at what cost per box of 50 or 100 with that Nosler bullet?.

I'm at $5.58 per box of 50 after recent component buys.

I can't come anywhere close to the .11 cents a round you are talking about. With the Campro bullet coming in at .16 cents, primer at 4 cents and powder about 3 cents that's .23 cents per round. Now you can take about 35% off of the .23 cents due to our ****** dollar up here which would then bring it down to about .15 cent per round American dollarś.
That's about as cheap as I can get 44 magnum to unless I was to cast my own bullets.

LPP $20/1000 = 2 cents each(various sources)

I'll add my opinion. For many years I used 7.0 grains of Bullseye (or similar - 700-X, AA#2, Clays, etc) under a 200 to 240 grain .44 lead bullet in both rifle and revolver. That worked fine for me in knocking over steel targets. I dropped to 6 grains for use in .44 Special cases.

I think a few posters have lost sight of the thread title and question and drifted on to there favorite lodes for other purposes although I acknowledge 'pleasure load' is subjective.

DWalts loads are exactly what I use in both 44spl and 44 mag for my " pleasure loads " . I use 700X or red dot , which ever I have at the time .

A load that I use when introducing young shooters & ladies is 3.5gr. Bullseye behind a 200 gr. RNFP bullet. When they're ready for something with a little more power I step them up to 5.0gr. Bullseye. My go to load in .44 Magnum is 7.5gr. Unique behind a 200 gr. RNFP bullet, if I want a little more power I increase the charge to 9.0gr. Unique.

After my range session with the above stated loads, rich by the way all shocked very well, I have decided to go with 8 grains of w231. So basically I have to Magnum loads right now that I go with, the first is 23g of W296 with the Hornady 240 xtp, and 8.0g of w231 with 240g Berrys plated fn. Of course the w296 is the Mega Magnum in my opinion whereas the w231 is more of a pleasure Magnum load. It just depends on what I feel like shooting when I want to shoot a 44 Magnum round.

As a teenager, I loved stoking them with Elmer Keith loads: 2-foot flames and revolver recoiling over the head (esp. old 3-screw Super Blackhawks.)

Now, it's Bunny Fart loads for this half-blind, almost deaf geezer with a number of hand problems.

My Bunny Fart: 200 gr RNFP and 5.0 grains of Titegroup in a .44 Mag case. Sweet!!
