Default Gun Show finds

Went to a gun show today up in Montana. Was a pretty good day for me. On the way we stopped at a yard sale. Found an old Stevens (311?) double on the table. It was in excellent condition. It was the one with the Tenite Stock and Forend. No big deal about the plastic stock cause the price was right(125)..but being the reloading forum that wasn't the best buy. At the show I found a Star Sizer Luber with dies for an unreal cheap price(50 bucks??) then went to the next table and found an unopened 4 lb container of Bullseye 25 bucks?? yep.. On another table I found an unopened 8 lb Red Dot for 80 bucks so I had to buy it too. And at another table found an old Lyman 45 Sizer with a set of dies in it. Needs a cap for the lube tube but for 10 dollars I hadda buy it too. The guy at that table gave me an old CH C press with no handle...??? Boy when I was buying all that stuff I thunk I was doing good...now I'm lookin at all of it and thinking....what in the heck was I doing?? Sometimes I am my own worst enemy. Yeah...I sure am!

I'd like to find a Star Sizer/Luber with dies for 50 bucks. It would work well in the Texas hot weather without a heater.I had a few of them in the late 60s to early 90s to go along with my 3 Star Loading Machines

Star made quality reloading products.

I don't do as much casting these days. But I already have a Star Sizer or 2. I just leave the darn things set up in a caliber I may change the die in the same caliber as the Star is set up to lube individual bullets in some cases.

Sounds like you had a great day at the gun show. Me it usually turns out that when I have some money there is nothing that interests me. Now on the other hand with little money in the pocket that's when the goodies appear. I pay in cash as I can't afford credit. Frank

Well I sold the Red Dot for a nice profit to a ahotgun shooter. I paid for the 50 dollar Star sizer..I also got another really nice Star sizer for 125 bucks from the same guy. It did have 3 sizers and 4 top punches with it though..a 430 a 4515 and a 277. which was a pretty good buy I guess. I found a lube cap for the Lyman 45 in all my junk. It has a 310 sizer in it. Going to clean it up and put it on ebay...maybe the 2nd Star too. I don't need 4 of them..At another Gun show 2 weeks ago I had bought an old Herters lead furnace for a grand sum for $12.50 and it works just fine. It is apparent it was made by Lyman. So I am gonna put all that stuff on ebay. What ever they go for is going to be a profit I hope. Have to pay for my transgressions you know.

Send that $50 Star with dies and top punches down to Texas where it will have a good home.

NAW..I'm gonna keep it. It's paid for with the profit from the Red Dot. Going to set it up to size the 44 bullets I have. I still cast the 429 303 pointy bullet and the flying trash can bullet 429 348. So I'll size them on it and get rid of the old Lyman 45 I do them on.. The 50 dollar Star didn't have the lube handle on it..but it is just a bplt for all purposes..or I can just unscrew one from one of the other Stars. I'm going to try an air lube setup I think
