Default 41 Magnum Loads for Hornady FTX and CFE Pistol

Does anyone have any loads for the new Hornady 190 GR FTX bullet using Hodgdon CFE Pistol. Hodgdon lists loads for the 210 GR XTP but none for the newer FTX. Also, Hornady doesn't list that powder under its load data. Thanks.

The FTX bullets usually have a warning to use them in trimmed/shortened cases (357Mag & 44Mag) & may have deeper than "normal for weight" seating depth, so it'd be hard to make even an educated guess without other references, IMO.

Have you called Hornady to see if they have any data that hasn't been published yet?

I concur with BLUEDOT37 on calling them up and asking. And be sure to ask what length to trim the brass back to because the 357 and 44 Mag FTX cases need to be trimmed back due to the long ogive of the FTX bullets.

You didn't say what gun you plan to use but if you're using a Model 57 or 58 you may not need to trim the brass. Be interested to see how this goes. I was just about to order a box of the FTXs for both .41 and .44 but haven't gotten around to it yet. In my case, I was thinking of H110/296 or 2400.

Sorry I didn't get back to this sooner. Will be using in a Henry Big Boy Steel. Hornady has load data out for various powders but not CFE. It also looks like the brass won't need to be trimmed any more than normal and still stay within OAL specs. Data for H110 looks good so I''l try that. The data for 2400 is much lower max velocity and is and a narrower range that I don't like the looks of. BTW their data shows a difference between H110 and W296 which I thought was the same. Must have been different lots.
