Default Reloading Equipment Question

I'm not sure if this is posted in the right place. I know many of you on here like to reload.

Does anyone use the RCBS Reloader Special-5 press? (RS5) if you do, I have a few questions for you.

Thanks for the reply! I was wondering if you can reload 308 with that press? It looks a little bit small

I believe the RS5 has compound linkage similar to the Rock Chucker Supreme. Don't know what the price difference is between the 2 presses, but may be worth a look. The Rock Chucker has been the "standard" for many years. There are also other presses to take a look at-Hornady, Lee, Lyman, Forster, just to name a few. Part of the fun is in the "window shopping" :-)

The RCBS press is made out of steel......

your rifle case out of brass.

Go for it...........
I have an old "Single" ram RCBS and it is still ticking.

The specifications say it has a 3 3/4 inch opening and made of high strength aircraft aluminum, the O frame should take care of any flexing.
I sized 500 308 in a Lee Hand Press which has a frame opening of
3 1/2 inch. The opening should be adequate .

I'm still using the RCBS Rockchucker press I bought in 1973 and the RCBS RS5 is not made as robust. But it still should last a lifetime as long as you do not pull on the handle like the Incredible Hulk. If you have any doubts go big and get the Rockchucker, its made "Ford Truck Tough"

RCBS - RELOADER SPECIAL-5 PRESS

Here’s a workhorse of a press designed for any reloader— beginner, intermediate, or advanced—who want a press that can handle the smallest cartridge from a .17 Remington to a big-bore 375 magnum load for pistol, revolver or rifle, or for those just wanting a separate press to handle different duties. The RS-5 evolved from the now famous “JR” and Reloader Special presses. The RS-5 features a sturdy offset “O” frame for easy case insertion and extraction. Also includes an enhanced ball handle for comfort, an extra-long ram bearing surface to eliminate wobble and ensure alignment of the case holder for dies, an on-press primer arm that lets you prime cases at the same time you resize them, and a removable bushing for using RCBS shotshell dies or the Piggyback Conversion Unit. The 7/8 x 14 thread accommodates most popular reloading accessories.
