I'd like to reload these little buggers, but bullets are almost impossible to find and when you do they are so darned expensive that you might as well buy factory ammo....

If you plan to shoot 500 to 1K .25acp a year look into buying a 10# Lee pot(not expensive and exept for the annoying dripping,they work good)and a good mould(NOE makes some but you will find some others;just let your fingers sail over your keyboard).Then,a sizer with the proper die will do the rest(RCBS is an excellent one backed up by a second to none warranty).
Since the size of the iron blocks is quite large compared to the size of the bullets,you will have to cast quite rapidly and at a relatively high temp(825/850*F. and will need some lead with a good amount(%) of tin in it so that the little bullets come out with perfect shape.Linotype is perfect for such use.

Lyman makes/made a 51grain RN mould # 252435 for the 25ACP. It runs around $75.

RCBS makes 0-50 RN 25ACP, 2 cavity mould. Midway is sold out but they were on sale $106.24.

Lee doesn't make one that size.

I have never tried either mould but small 22 cal. molds have to be warm to very warm and be sure you have at least a few % of Tin in your alloy!

Looks like a few trips to the gun show used equipment dealers are in order!

I only own one .25 acp and bought it solely because I like Colt's vest model - for no other practical reasons. You are correct and even though I am a Re-loader, I BUY Factory Ball ammo for this old gun. When I find a sale, I'll usually buy a few boxes but truthfully don't shoot it much.

I have never seen cast 25 acp bullets for sale. I'd just get some FMJ factory and call it a day.

I cast 22 caliber bullets but and 25 caliber rifle bullets!

Never used these before, but for $28/500,,seems like a way to go.
At least I would give them a try before investing $200+ in a mould, casting pot, sizer ect. Plus the time to turn them out.
.25 ACP 55 gr. FP per 500

But then I gave up casting some years back simply because of the time it took away from other gun related things. So I'm biased I guess.

That's a pretty good price on those.

If you only wanted to cast for that .25 yeah probably better just to buy a couple thousand of those and be done with it.

I just don't want to reload that tiny of a case. My fingers would get squashed! I do reload .380's, but only when I have to, they are enough of a pain.

@ the OP. Unless you have something very specific in mind, it seems to be too much trouble for a caliber that is not easy to reload (evereything is tiny) and generally doesn't get shot in great quantity.

Unless you are planning to use it in IDPA matches.

That's more like it. Even with shipping 1000 of them are only 7 cents apiece.
Buy a few more or add a couple of other calibers to get free shipping and the price goes all the way down to 5.6 cents each.
