Testing the .38 Special "FBI" load......
Got out to my range yesterday to test my Rim Rock 158 gr. SWC-HP load using 6.0 gr. of Power Pistol.
Revolvers used were my S&W Model 66 4 inch barrel and the Ruger .357 LCR 1.87 barrel.
Was seeing 1060 FPS out of the Smith and 870-900 out of the LCR.
Expansion test was fantastic when shot with the S&W 66 !

I’ve gotten good results with 6 grains PP under the Lyman 358429 in .38 cases.
This is a magnums only load since that boolit tips the scale at about 170 grains. Clocks just a hair below 1000 from a 4” barrel.

Thank you for the range report and video.
I get just as good expansion with either the Hornady or Speer 158gr swagger LSWC bullet and at a greatly reduced price. No gas checks and no leading either. I'm using HS-6 in my FBI Load replicas.
