Default Wiley Clapp 9m/m

I shoot mainly 45’s and 38’s. But I picked up a Colt LW commander. I need a Good powder and bullet choice.
I shoot a lot of Missouri coated in my other handguns.
Suggestions please.

As far as I’m concerned, there’s only one powder for 9x19 - HS6! WSF has also been good for me, but I’ll take HS6 any time. I use plain old Remington 124 gr JHPs when I’m concerned about accuracy. They do a good job of balancing performance and cost.

Good luck with your new Commander!

I agree with M29. I like HS6, but with 147 gr bullets. I also use Bullseye with 147's . I had been using plated bullets. But lately have been using coated bullets and they seem to be working just fine in my autos and revolvers.

In 9mm, WSF & 124gr @ 1150ps + are my preference for full power stuff. For plinking ammo, doesn't get much better than WST & 147gr @ 900fps. I also shoot my own cast/coated.

Nosler 124gn JHP, 6.3gr 800X, WSP, Starline case (unfired), 1.090" OAL ... 1225 fps from 4" bbl., stock VP9. This is NOT a published load, so you're on your own.

I have used Accurate Arms Number 5 and Number 7 for 124 and 147 grain jacketed and plated loads in the 9x19. Number 5 works really well for mid-to full power loads and Number 7 is great for getting the most velocity when loading to NATO or +P levels.
