X-Treme 9mm 124 gr HP
Looking for some input. I have been competing in IDPA for some time and like the performance of Freedom HP target loads. What I don't like is that at my state IDPA match I did not hit the 125 power-factor and was DQ'd.
I purchased a re-loader and would like to load to load X-Treme 124 gr HP bullets with Tight Group. Does anyone have any experience with this recipe? If yes what does your Chronograph say?
I am using my M&P with a 5" barrel.

I don't have that powder........
but with a Berry 124gr target HP plated bullet, I found that a short
OAL of 1.075" will work with ball powders and if you use the Alliant
flake powders, a 1.13" get more bulky powder into the little 9mm case.
Just go with the shortest OAL and a 94% powder loading with that
faster powder to get you in the ball park, around 1060fps for a safe pf131
for all your weapons......... if they function.
Good loading.

4.1gr Titegroup min and don't load the 124gr plated bullet too long. 133PF from my M&P Pro 5". ALWAYS check your load in your gun on chrono before heading for a sanctioned match, and recheck weight when you change powder batches.

Titegroup and an Xtreme 124-gr plated HP is what I use to match my Speer Gold Dot 124-gr +P JHP defensive ammo for practice. I set OAL and crimp using one of the Speer cartridges, as the two bullets are quite close. Pistol is a Glock 26, and it's pretty hot.

Is this what you were shooting?
9mm Luger 124 gr HP Reman | Freedom Munitions
How slow was it? It'd have to be sub 1009fps to not make pf.

+1;
Most powders .3 grs above starting will get you 1010fps
out of a 5" barrel in most pistols.
3.8grs of Green Dot gives me 1004fps. Try 4.2grs.
You don't want a bottom of the barrel loading in comp.
A 100% load is minimum.............. !!

I was actually using 115 gr Freedom HP. I was about 15 FPS to slow to make PF.

Just a followup for those of you who posted on this thread.
The story ended up with a happy ending. I am loading the 124g X-Treme JHP with 4 grains of Tight Group, OAL. At the state match the chronograph showed a 5 shot average of 1055 fps, well over the 1008 required for me to meet the 125 power factor for SSP.

Just as a note for those that shoot a 5" with a 125 gr Plated HP bullet.
My low accuracy load was with Unique at 999fps..
Lowest accuracy was with Green Dot at 1025fps... pf127
Next best load was Unique at 1034fps that did .77" off a rest at 15 yards. PF128
Ten powders tested and maximum load accuracy went to .....
BE-86 at 1220 with a 1.075 OAL and 15 yards at 1.12" for just five shots.
This was my first outing with the 5" and 124 plated HP bullets.
Sorry for the minimum test data and short range but it was a chrony thing , to get into the ball park.
