Default Full bore....

About 50 Full bore .357 158 gr. SWC with 15.5 gr. of 2400.
The remainder of the cases will be loaded with a lesser charge and some will be .38 +P level or low end .357.

Moving on to .44 magnum, full bore 230 grain.

Next I have about 20 Arisaka cases.

Gotta get dies for the Mosin Nagant. I'm accumulating boxer brass for these.

I'm 'overstocked' on various 30-06 charges. Gotta shoot up various loads that didn't work quite right.

Loading 9mm Luger is an ongoing job.

I'm just finishing up a run of .38-44 loads. I have a heavy duty and an outdoorsman to feed. The bullet is a LYMAN 358156 over 12 grains of 2400 (Handloader 204).

The cartridge in the middle is a .44 SPC, using an LBT 240 gr ogival wadcutter, over a mild load of Universal Clays. These I loaded about 3 weeks ago.

The cartridge on the right is .44 Mag, using a LBT 260 gr Wide Flat Nose, over a healthy charge of True Blue. These I loaded about two weeks ago.

I purchased all of the projectiles from Montana Bullet Works (MBW). I highly recommend MBW. The bullets are very consistent, sized according to order, and lubed with LBT Blue. They really are quite lovely.

Too cold and windy to shoot today, so ran 150 380 ACP's from my LCT:

- 50 each 100 gr HBRN Berry's plated over 3.5 gr W-231; 0.970" OAL
-100 each 105 gr TCG Bayou's "Hitech" coated over 3.1 gr W-231; 0.970" OAL

Still sorting out that new M&P 380EZ. -S2

1000 Winchester large pistol primers

A rainy chilly day here on the Gulf Coast of Texas, a good day to do some loading. In and around other "inside" jobs, I managed 150 rounds of .44 Special. Skeeter Skelten's load, 7.5 gr of Unique under 240 Xtreme SWC. Using .44 Mag cases however.

Twenty rounds of 577-.450. 485 grain paper patch bullet, Bertram brass and 85 grains of 1F Goex. It will be interesting to see if paper patch bullet will shoot enough better than the than the 475 grain grease groove bullet to make it worth the effort.

Wow, that is a seriously unusual cartridge that I had to google to figure out what it was. What gun are you shooting that thru?

A Mk IV Martini-Henry made in 1887, so it's not a firearm under Federal law. It does come equipped with what the tacticool guys term "an aggressive muzzle attachment for CQB" but is known to us geezers as a bayonet.

Here are a couple of us clowning around with a Victorian pith helmet, the Martini-Henry Mk IV and a Webley Mk V in .455. Near as we can tell, there is little chance of a Zulu attack in Madison county.

Another not so great weather day on the Texas Gulf Coast. Doing other "inside" jobs, but I did manage to tumble some .44 Mag brass. Reorganized/cleaned up a safe also. Thursday mornings are my typical range day and it is looking like good weather, so I can't wait for my favorite day of the week.

This afternoon I reloaded 420 Wild Bunch .45 ACP loads consisting of 4,2 gn Tightgroup under a 230 gn LRN bullet in preparation for our Wild Bunch Nationals next month.

I opened my last 500 rounds of 230 LRN to load the last 100, so will have to order another couple of thousand, along with an thousand 200 gn RNFP 44/40 and the same number of 100 gn RNFP .38 (for my CAS Henry Big Boy .357 rifle and Tanfoglio pre witness CZ 9mm clone) as I am getting low on both.

I also reset the powder measure on my 9mm press to drop a slightly heavier (.2 gn) load than my last test batch.

Neat!

Mine is a carbine rechambered to .303 British. I only shoot 150 gn cast lead projectiles in it these days at moderate .303 British velocities.

The "Wild Bunch Nationals" just sounds like a ****-load of fun.

I cleaned about 500 rounds of .357 so they are ready for loading. Also, I am out of 44 mag bullets, so am about to order a bunch from Summer Ent.

I generally shoot two CAS competitions a year plus a few monthly club CAS shoots if I am not working on the 4th Saturday each month (my club's CAS day). Have not yet gotten around to shooting a Wild Bunch match, although I have all the equipment and have read/know the rules. To have the Nationals as my first WB match may be a bit ambitious but nothing tried, nothing gained.

Not sure if the 310 rounds of .45 ACP plus more for side matches is a misprint or not (100 rifle rounds and 60 12 gauge shotgun for 12 stages, min 5 X 7 round .45 mags required) but 500 rounds should be plenty with a 100 or so to practice on beforehand. (IPSC match I'm shooting this weekend has min 160 rounds for 9 stages with two 32 round courses of fire).

Yesterday I loaded some 9mm. Today I will load some more 9mm. Tomorrow I will load even more 9mm. Why 9mm? I have a 9mm machinegun that has a voracious appetite, and one of my friends from California is coming to visit in May.

Stripped down 145 9mm rounds loaded with a flat point bullet that doesn't feed well and a powder that seems to be a bit erratic in my Kimber 1911.

Then ran the primed cases through my press reloading with a max (4.4 gn) load of Tightgroup and plated RN projectiles. Will chrono and shoot on Sunday in comparison with a 4.2 gn load.

I haven't loaded for a while for a few reasons, but one of them is I'm out of .44 bullets and have two .44s I need to ops check. I ordered 2600 hitek coated 180gr bullets from Summers last weekend, so as soon as I get them I'm gonna load up a bunch and test my new Rossi 92 and my M29 that just got back from warranty work.

I also ordered some .32 H&R dies so I can start reloading .32 Long.

Load 124 grn rn 9mm every day. Used up 8lbs of Bullseye and have started on some CFE pistol. I had time to load some 230 and 240 grn 460XVR with 29.5 grns of 2400. Starting off light and getting braver every time I go to the range.

In the last 2 days I loaded up 200 45 ACP with Zero 230 grain FMJ and 7.0 grains of Shooter's World Ultimate Pistol and 200 rounds with the same bullet and 5.0 grains of Shooter's World Clean Shot. I had bought these Shooter's World powder when Midsouth had free hazmat when ordering SW powders and so far I really like them.

I went to the range last Friday and shot 100 rounds loaded with 6.8 grains of the Ultimate Pistol and they chonoed right at 900 ft/sec, which is right where I figured they would fall at according to their load data, so I decided to try it at 7.0 grains which is still under their max load for a 230 grain FMJ bullet with that powder and see how they perform. With 4.6 grains of Clean Shot they averaged 777 ft/sec, which is also right about where they would clock at when comparing against their data. I went up to 5.0 grains to see if I could get them averaging closer to 800-830 ft/sec. That load is also lower than their max load data for that style bullet.

Didn't load anything but prepared a dummy 7.62x38R to setup dies on my 550. Turned out real good easy falls in/out of cylinder and will create a gas seal. Have one Frankenstein setup: 30 Carbine sizing, then 31 Long M Die to expand case mouth, 32-20 seater die with 25-20 seating plug (to push bullet below case mouth) and finish it all up with 30 Carbine crimp die to overcrimp final round

Loaded some .38 spl with 6.5x55 Swede wooden practice ammo powder. I have pounds of this stuff and figured I might as well work up a load. I’m gonna crono it this week and see if it’s consistent. I’ll post the results if anyone reloads 6.5 and has the powder. And if I’m still alive. Ha

Ninety-two rounds of .223, 19.0 and 19.5 grains of IMR-4198 under Hornady 68-grain HPBT Match bullets, CCI #41 primers, COL 2.257.

I've always stuck with 55-grain bullets because I also shoot them in my Rem 788. These will be for my AR only. I don't think the 788's 1-12 twist would work well enough for the longer Hornadys.

Last weekend the wind was too much to go fishing. So I reloaded 400+ rounds of 44 special (240 gn Hi-Tek coated LSWC over 5 grains of Bullseye) and 400+ rounds of 44 magnum (240 gn Hi-Tek coated LSWC over 20 grains of 2400). Pretty proud about it, I started from scratch, including wet tumbling, and managed to keep the wife happy with home chores to boot. A good weekend for me.

I loaded some 160 grn 15.5 grns of IMR and same bullet with 15.5 of H110 for my 357.

If you can get more Trail Boss, I'd suggest doing it! It's very versatile, not setting any records with velocity, but can be used from 38 spl up to 308 (subs, stupid quiet with a suppressor!). Around here (Tampa FL), it's a hard powder to get. And can be traded for more powders with the 300 blk out crowd. They buy it any chance they get, youd think it was a powder shortage if asking for Trail Boss locally, lol.

That's interesting about the Trail Boss. Here, it does seem to move off the shelves pretty quick, and I like it though it seems a bit dirty and it goes quick because it's such large flakes. I've got two or three canisters of it waiting to be used, but I've got some other powders I was planning to play with like Universal and Longshot.

Been working on some new loads for my 4" 686 - Well after burning up some powder I have concluded that 3.5gr of Bullseye and 125gr LSWC bullets make for an accurate and fun plinker in 38 Spc. Stepping that up a bit 5gr of Unique makes for a bit stouter plinker/small game thumper with 158gr LSWC. It's just into +P territory in 38 Special and a ton of fun to shoot. Now that I have a couple 'go to' loads, it's time to work up some 357Mags for some serious thumping. Fun stuff.

Here's the 5gr Unique load at 25yds and 2 of the 3.5 Bullseye targets (rested w/2X scope for load development)

As soon as I shot those groups I jerked the scope off and proceeded to double my group sizes. lol, Oh well, at least I know the what the gun will do, now to work on the shooter.....and being how I shot up all of last nights reloads, I know what I'm going to be doing tonight!

Decapped some .38 Super, but the last thing I finished was 200 rounds of .38 Special with 148 gr DEWC over 2.8 gr. Clays.

VIC_vega9.... that's some serious reloading right there!! Like Mad Max SHTF reloading, lol.

Just out of curiosity, where do you start with a recipe like that? Just knowledge over the years? Like knowing burn rates and stuff? And where did you get powder like that?

I think itd be kinda awesome to shoot the wood bullets, too, lol. Cutting up dowels, some one asks, "what are you doing?", "um, pretty obvious.... reloading....!" Lol

Reloading 357 Magnum.

My current, go to, plinking 357Mag reload is;
148gr Lead DEWC double end wad cutter.
3.0grs Alliant RED DOT. CCI Small Pistol Primer.
Brass is Nickle plated Winchester.
Crimp is what I call medium roll crimp.
Velocity approximately 700 fps?
Bullets tumbled lube with Ben's Liquid Lube,
for Lead free barrel performance.
Primers no where near flat.

Very accurate in my stock circa '90's S&W Model 686-3

Trying the USMC 45 auto target load.
A Nosler 185 JHP over N310. They use just 4.1 grains with light springs IIRC, but my pistol (USP 45) is stock so I went with 4.3 and 4.6 grains to get the big beast to cycle.
I was shocked to see my local Fleet & Farm had the Nosler bullets, XTPs too. Same price as Midway, and sales tax instead of shipping, so it's a bit cheaper.
