Hornady 75gr BTHP Match Load Data
Anyone have load data for Hornady 75gr BTHP Match and Varget? I have the Hornady manual and it has the data for that load at 19.4 minimum and 23.5 max. I've loaded the max load and it seems a bit slow. Anyone go over 23.5?

I suspect it's for 223 Remington, 0.224 bullet and that amount of Varget fits with the 223. Hornady's data is in general a bit on the conservative side but I have also found my most ACCURATE loads using Hornady's data. You have a choice here, to you want maximum accuracy or do you want maximum velocity, in my experience it is rare for the two to coincide. If you want maximum Velocity I would suggest you look at Hodgdon's data, in general Hodgdon's data runs a bit "hotter" that Hornady.
However do keep in mind with a 75 grain bullet in 223 you won't see velocities in the 3200 fps range, the case just doesn't have enough capacity. I'll also note that higher velocities will increase the wear rate on the barrel.
Being a cheapskate and someone who prefers Accuracy over Velocity I load using Hornady's data. Means I use less powder per round and my barrels will last longer. As for Accuracy I have one load for my precision rifle in 223 Wylde that puts a 68 grain Hornady BTHP into 3 shot groups under 3/10 inch at 100 yards and 5 shot groups are under 4/10 inch.

I HAVE USED 24.2 GR VARGET WITH THAT BULLET. IN COMMERCIAL CASES. NO CLUE ON THE VELOCITY, BUT IT IS ACCURATE. JP

We still don't know for sure what caliber this question is intended for.

In .223 caliber, I have used 24.5 grains of Varget with that bullet. It is accurate, out to 500 yards in my Rock River National Match AR. I prep all the cases, by trimming (minimum length), chamfering, and primer pocket uniforming.

Sorry guys... it's for an AR 5.56. Someone answered my question on Facebook yesterday. I forget that Hornady has a 223 and 5.56 section in their manual. The max load for 5.56 is 24.6 grains of Varget.
I shoot for accuracy. I usually load for my bolt action 223. It's got a 26" barrel so my velocities are usually pretty high.

I've had really good accuracy with RL15 and AR Comp using data from Alliant. The AR Comp burns much cleaner, both are 1/2 MOA (or better) loads. Do I get Alliants velocities? No, but the data comes from specially made pressure barrels. It does match factory loads with the same bullet.
