Default Power Pistol for 41 Magnum

Hey All...has anyone tried Power Pistol in the 41 Magnum..? I am looking for powder to replace Unique...yeah..I know they made it cleaner burning...does not seem so...it is still a filthy powder....have used 9 gr Unique with H&G #258 220gr Keith SWC for quite a while now....
I only mention Power Pistol because I use it exclusively in my Glock model 40
10mm...it burns VERY clean...10gr with a Speer 165 Gold Dot is a proven hunting load....
Looking at the burn rate charts Power Pistol is right there with Unique...
What Say YE...???
Pete

It burns a little slower than Unique.I tried it in my .44 for medium loads(215gr at 1250fps)and went back to Unique.
I now use it for .38Spl+P and like it a lot.

I like it! Flashy, it was originally formulated for Autos with comps. Superbly accurate in my 44 Spls and 44 Mags. Check out Brian Pearce's work with 44 Special using Power Pistol, in Handloader Magazine.

I still have Unique but I no longer use it in 44 caliber guns.

Pearce's load is: 240 LSWC 8.0 Power Pistol standard primer and 1,000 fps from a 5inch gun and 17 K PSI pressure. It out shoots a couple of famous 44 Special loads in my Smiths and a Ruger Bisley.

Unique replacement -- cleaner shooting ? Winchester Super Field is the answer . You can use unique load data or add 1/2-1.0 gr . My favorite load in the 41 mag , using the Keith Bullet (HG 258) is 8.5 grs . I have gone all the way to 9.5 for some serious loads . But like I said , 8.5 is my most used load . After that I use HS-6 if I want more power . Regards, Paul
