Default Winchester Small Rifle Magnum Primer

Does Winchester make a small rifle magnum primer?

The reason I am asking is that I am going to load some .300 ACC Blackout/Whisper ammo. I want to use Lil' Gun powder. The data I have specifies a Remington small rifle magnum primer. I have Winchester small rifle primers on hand and want to use them.

As far as I know, Winchester has never made small rifle magnum primers (or any other magnum primers) and I know that in regard to hand guns, Winchester primers work for all powders, including ones that require "magnum" primers (such as WW 296). I would imagine the same holds true for rifles, but I want to know if anyone here can tell me if I am right or wrong.

I will much appreciate all informed replies (no guessing, please).

The rifle in question:

Warren, you haven't looked very close! Winchester makes magnum primers in all sizes for metallic loading except Large Pistol.

I have used Winchester small rifle primers and Lil gun in my 221 FireBall rifle. worked fine. Don't see why they would be any different in a 30-221 aka 300 blackout/Whisper.

Winchester primers are designed around lighting off harder to ignite Winchester ball powders. So in essence this makes them a magnum primer.

Remington ran the Lake City Army Ammunition plant from 1941 until 1984. And the Remington 7 1/2 and 9 1/2 primers were used to light off Winchester ball powders at Lake City.

Look at the flash photos of primers below, I use the Remington primers for all my ball powder loads.

Thanks guys, that confirms my previous understanding. No Winchester small rifle magnum primers are made.

I talked to my local ammo reloading supplier this afternoon. He gave me a funny look and said no one makes magnum small rifle primers except Federal (I think he said), and maybe Remington, but he has not seen, or had any demand, for them. He said Winchester S R primers will git 'er done.

CCI would be very surprised to learn they don't make magnum small rifle primers. I guess those millions of #450 primers they sell each year didn't meet your reloading guru's expectations.
