Default Czech Shooter's World Powder

I bought a pound of this powder in Heavy Pistol at the last gun show - $18. Looks like it is similar to AA #9. Any comments about it?

The first of this brand I have bought. The gun show dealer carried about six different varieties of powder in 1, 4, and 8-pound containers, somewhat less costly per pound in the larger containers. I just bought the 1 pound container of Heavy Pistol to see how well it works in .357, .44 Mag, and possibly .30 Carbine. It seems to fall in the same range as 2400, AA #9, and H110. The reloading data on their website is somewhat spotty and not too comprehensive. I use 2400 and H4227 in lighter CF rifle lead bullet loads, may try it on such loads also.

I haven't used that powder, but have been loading their Clean Shot, Ultimate Pistol and Auto Pistol in 45 Auto and really like them. Meter well, clean burning and give consistent velocity.

I am currently trying their Clean Shot in .40 S&W. As stated, it burns clean and meters well.

DWalt, when you load up some with that powder, post up your results. I bought a pound of it to try out myself, last time MidSouth had a no hazmat fee deal going on. I also bought a pound of the Major Pistol powder to try too.

Looking at their data, it looks to me like the Heavy Pistol might be a tad faster powder than Accurate #9 according to the data that Accurate has put out.

For 357 Mag, the Heavy Pistol is showing a load of 10.0-12.1 grains with a Hornady 158 XTP bullet. Accurate #9 data shows a load range of 12.4-13.8 grains with the same bullet.

For 44 Mag, Heavy Pistol shows a load range of 15.5-18.8 grains with a Nosler 240 JHP. Accurate #9 is showing a load range of 18.5-20.5 grains with a Hornady 240 XTP and 17.8-19.8 grains with a Sierra 240 JHC bullet.

Extrapolating from that data, I am guessing that the Heavy Pistol has a burn rate somewhere in between A #9 and A #7.

I also bought 2 lbs of Tactical Rifle powder to try out in 223 Rem for my AR.
