Default .45 HBWC mold group buy at castboolits

Disclaimer: I have zero financial interest in this venture.

This is a bit of a self-serving post, though, because I really want to see this mold get enough orders to go into production.

If, like me, you have a model 25 with oversize throats (which 25s are known for), a soft, hollow base bullet should be just the ticket, as the hollow base expands easily to fill the throat.

I have the .357 version of this mold and itís awesome. The boolits cast easily and cut big, impressive holes. A .45 version should be a flying oil drum and drop at about 230 grains.

I own four M&P molds and can attest to their quality. His 4-cavity brass molds run about $100 and are a steal.

I also have no financial interest in this vendor

I will second the comment that Miha's molds are fantastic. I have perhaps a dozen by now.

More than half of them are for .501 projectiles.

The last time the HBWC run was done (four years ago) I picked up one for my 41 Magnum

I use/cast/shoot several different hb bullets in the 45cal's. Including the Mihec 235gr hbwc.

I like the Mihec hbwc molds and have them in:
32cal
35cal
41cal
44cal
45cal

The bottom left bullet pictured above is cast from a cramer mold, it's a swc hb cast bullet. There was a lot of issues with all the different 1917/45acp surplus revolvers in circulation at that time. Larger than normal cylinders/bbl's/etc were common. Casters ordered hb bullet molds from gramer back in the day. Any mold in their line could be ordered with hp pins or hb pins. The special order cramer 45cal mold with the hb pins.

HB bullets in the 45cal/pistol/revolver combo is always a good thing & they will flat out shoot bugholes with pet loads.

I have Miha’s HBWC molds in 38, 41, 44 and 45. I recently acquired his latest run of the “ 45 man stopper” mold.
Photo’s are of the 45 and 41 HBWC. You can see what the 45’s weigh in solid and HBWC versions.I use the HBWC in my 25’s to negate the throat issue as mentioned in the OP.
The solids I cast harder and run them at a more robust rate out of my Ruger BH’s. I shoot pepper poppers at 50 yds with these big flat face 45’s and they slam the poppers to the deck with much gusto.
The OP compares these to “flying oil drums”, that is a good analogy.
I have a couple snub LC’s and the solid 45 WC has become my carry load in these.
Mihec turns out good products, I have a bunch of his molds. Noe turns out good stuff too, and I have a bunch of Swede’s products as well.
( I have no financial interests in either vendor, other than spending my money there.)

Bear Creek's moly coated 200gr HBRN is my favorite target bullet. Can't wait to try out the HBWC. Be interesting to see if they feed in my semiautos but I'm sure my Model of 1950 Target will enjoy them.
