Well can't easily ship the powder Haz mat fees if you can. Powder was discontinued about 1982...so the amount of people wanting it would be minimized and powder value..if a pound... about 5 to 10 bucks. And I do use the old Alcan powders. If you know someone that reloads just give it to them. Contrary to what many think it is not great fertilizer. Takes too long to break down

Actually, as a private person you can't ship powder or any other Haz-Mat material. Trying to ship it without declaring it would land you in major league trouble.

Go with the local give away or trade for a 6 pack.

If you handload, and the powder is still good, why not use it yourself.

AL7 was a shotshell powder mostly for heavier (by todays standards) shotloads in just about every gauge except 410.
But it does show some lighter loads in 20ga and 28ga.

But it was also used in 38special and 357MAgnum
Both cast and jacketed loads in both (the selection isn't very large but at least it's there inclu the 148gr WC bullet)
Here's a PDF of the orig ALCAN loading manual from 1966.
Scroll all the way to the last page for the handgun info.

I still am using up some AL5 and AL8 that was given to me a couple years ago.
It was destined for someones garden I suspect. Nice clean containers and perfectly good powder.

Personally, I would be reluctant to purchase any powder from an individual, particularly a person I do not know very well, unless the container was in pristine condition and had never been opened.

A single canister of powder on the resale market is probably worth less than the hazmat fee charged to ship it, which can only be done by common carrier (FedEx, UPS, etc) via ground delivery.

First recommendation: If the powder container appears to be in good condition and you can use the powder in something you reload for, do so.

Second recommendation: Propellant powders make very good fertilizer for house plants. A tablespoon or so can be very beneficial in a pot of petunias.
