Default Made a few today

I have some unknown alloy which test 15 BHN. I mixed it 50-50 with pure, 10 pounds of each. Harles came by & left me an NOE 45-255-FN four cavity mould. I cast with it side by side with the four cavity Accurate 45-200E. The 45-255 bullets were .455" & 258.5 grains. The Accurate were .455 also & 205 grain.

Nice clean looking bullets! How hard did they turn out to be?

I'll test some later today at 24 hours but most likely 9-10 BHN.

Perfectly cast!Congrats!
9-10BHN is good for any velocity you can push them in a .45 Colt at Ruger's loads only(1200fps)without leading if the diam fits the chamber mouths.
Again, these bullets look very good.Nice job!
What lube are you using?

Looks like they will be 10 BHN. I'm using Carnauba Red for both bullets. Purchased a case sometime back & been mostly happy with it. I'm about out & will need to purchase lube before long. The heavier bullet I size .454 for a slip fit in my 1973 Blackhawk cylinder.
