SNAGGED A 550
The other day I was surfing through Armslist and came across a Dillon 550 for $350. I asked him if 300 would buy it. He replied 300 wouldn't but $325 would. It came set up for 10 m.m./ 40 cal. Also he threw in 4 lbs. of 700X powder & 3 or 4 thousand 40 cal. cases.I think I did O.K. I don't think it needs rebuilt but I may have it done and maybe have it turned into a 550c. Then I have to decide to keep it and sell the SDB or keep the SDB and sell it. Life is full of choices!!!

Congratulations on the 550! That was a pretty good deal in my area. I’ve had mine for 6 months and absolutely love it. I don’t know what all you load for, but the money from the SDB would definitely buy a few tool heads and some conversion kits.

Wow that's a steal for that package. Congrats on a deal. I don't have first hand experience but heard that 700X is not best for Dillon powder measure.

Keep them both...you never know what you will need down the road.
I started with a Lyman Spartan in 1967 and now have 6 more reloading presses and use/need every one of them.
A paid for press is a lot cheaper than buying a new one a few years from now.
My advice....keep the press , it's paid for and ...like my Dad would say... " It ain't eating no hay" ... which means , it's not costing you anything . My old man was pretty smart... another bit of his advice ... " Always have a spare on hand " ... good advice .

iouri, It looks like IMR Red & I tried it and didn't have to much luck. I'm guessing I'll have the same problem with 700X. gwpercle, I have two presses, a 550B set up for large primers. I reload for .45ACP & .30-30 Winchester. The SDB is set up for small primers and can load .38/.357 & .45ACP. I just picked it up to make a "few bucks".

Here is a pic of what I got for $245.00.It's in pretty good shape. P.S. I sold the .40 cal. brass for $80.00 so the price came down to $245.
