Modern 629 cylinders are 1.700" long. Add .060" for the rim & the max. COAL" would be about 1.760"
That max. COAL" can only be obtained if the loaded bullet's diameter is smaller than the cylinder's throats or it has a long nose that's not full diameter. It's bullet dependent.
