Default CFE-P & 147gr Blue Bullets

I bought a sample pack of Blue Bullets and loaded them up for use in my M&P 9mm ported 5" CORE. I wanted thoughts on my results and is it typical for my set up? As a reference I also shot Speer Lawman 147 gr TMJ across the Chrono. I am aware the jacketed can be loaded faster than lead.

I’m getting standard deviations around 6-8 with titegroup and these same projectiles.

What OAL are you loading them too? I don’t bother doing to the ogive with pistol rounds I’ll admit.

I’m also loading them for less than 900 FPS because that still makes power factor for my competitions.

Thanks for the input. OAL is 1.160 and plunk test checked.

A 147 coated can run from 1.16 to 1.12" OAL depending on the weapon or maker's data.

I did not have CFE for my coated bullets but did use it with the Speer and Berry 147 jacked bullets, a year later.

CFE with copper coated ran from 851 up to 955 in my 5" pistol.

You can get good accuracy from coated bullets at slow or fast fps and with short or long OAL's.
I had .356 to .358 dia. coated bullets to work with and they might or might not work in your weapons.

With the .358 dia. bullets a "Plunk test" is a must, to see if it fits the chamber correctly.

Good luck.

I find that when I use a Lee Factory Crimp Die it makes my handloads for semiautos fit the chamber just fine and seems to give them smaller spreads than the other way.

Right on. FWIW, I've had a lot of fun these past few months with VV 3N38 and 147-grainers (I'm using HSTs) in the 9mm - amazing what that powder will do with that weight and still stay in CIP pressures.
