200s are very picky on powder and the overall length at 50 yards. A 200 bullet will shoot as much as a foot higher at 25 yards in 357. They work good in 38 special brass with 2400.

Western Bullets makes them from the Lyman 358430 mold. It’s a blunt round nose design that mimics the old W-W Super Police load in both .38 Special and .38 S&W.

I have some and they take the back seat on the loads I have tested so for but I am not giving up yet.

That high shot , if it was like me with a new heavy load........

I was not expecting such a heavy recoil.
I sucked it up and got a better grip on the revolver and the other rounds
settled down a lot better.

200 grains will get your attention out of a 357 Magnum near a full load.

Speer used to make a 357, 200gr TMJ bullet. You can still occasionally find them for sale second hand. I used to shoot them in my 357 Maximum Contender barrel I just sold. And I still shoot them out of my 35 Rem lever action rifle. I’ve got a two pound coffee can full of them.

Magnus Bullets (Toney, AL, Tel. 256-420-8610) has duplicate of the WW Super Police 200 gr round nose but in cast and .357 diameter. Great folks to deal with, and you can order online.

35 years ago I had a 35 Rem in a Marlin 336. I had several boxes of jacked and lead RN bullets left over when I traded the gun off. I used them in 38 Special and 38 S&W non +P loadings. I ran one group through a 357 sizing die and a control group left unresized. In my guns there was no difference in recoil (that I could feel) and no difference in accuracy.

I shot the 38 Specials in Models 10, 28, & 686. I Shot the 38 S&Ws in H&R and Iver Johnson top breaks. I found nothing wonderful about them and they were an expensive way to put holes in paper! That was the end of the project.

Yes Ivan I’ve had the same experience with these 200gr Speer TMJ .357” bullets in my Marlin 35 Rem. They shoot the same group at 100 yards as Sierra 200gr .358” lead nose bullets.
