Manual for .22 Remington Jet?
Before I dive in to my new hobby, and start throwing around $, I'm trying to read and research tools, bench design, storage, processes, and procedures. I've just finished reading (and am re-reading) Lyman's #50.
There is no info, except for a cast bullet mould, on .22 Remington Jet or Centerfire Magnum.
Can someone suggest a good second manual for me to buy, that would address this cartridge?
I'm assuming there are rifle-type procedures to be performed on cases.
I'll be, hopefully, someday, shooting my handloads in my 6" Model 53.
Thanks much!
George

Speer #9
My Speer #9 has .22 Jet info, if you can find one. I don't doubt the they are out there.
Yeah, I see some used on ebay.
PS: The Hodgdon web site also has loads for the Jet.

Most people that I've read or talked to say, cases that you form from 38/357 just are not very good. Spend the money and buy good FACTORY brass! You now have the sum of my 22 Jet knowledge!
Ivan
If Hornady still makes their bullets for Jet, it would be in their loading manual.

Hornady 10th edition and/or Lee's Metallic Reloading both contain data for the .22 Jet.

Thanks, guys!
I was thinking of getting the Hornady 10th edition, anyway. I will, now, knowing that it has some data for the Jet.
I realize this info is also out there, in cyber-world, but I want a bound book.
Thanks, again, for the suggestions!

Not to mention that forming .22 Jet cases from .357 brass is a somewhat complicated and tedious multi-stage procedure. Not as simple as running a .357 case through a .22 Jet FL resizing die.

Don't overlook the factory ammo from PPU. Significantly cheaper than trying to find the Remington original stuff.
I don't think its as hot as original but you'll save the reforming issue - FWIW.

I just bought my 4th box of Jet ammo from PPU. I’m saving every case.

I don't have a manual with 22 Jet data however recently started loading for mine. Not easy to find .222 bullets but Sierra 45 grain .223 "hornet" bullets work well with 9 grains of H110; could load hotter but get good accuracy and see no reason to go heavier. Quite a bit of load information on the web. Lots of fun to shoot. Enjoy.

You can find .22 Jet data in both the Lyman 44th and also their cast handbook. You can grab both those PDFs HERE.
