Starline as far as I'm concerned is the Best. Made in America.
As my other Brass wears out I replace it with Starline.

I recently loaded new Starline 10mm, actually my first time loading new brass. It has perfectly round and clean flash holes as well as other quality details.

Bullseye shooters are looking for every extra edge they can find, and the vast majority choose Starline brass for their handloads - that pretty much says it all for pistol brass.

Like the others, I have excellent results with Starline brass. I've bought their 357 and 44 brass and have used Starline brass I picked up here and there in 9MM, 380 Auto, 45 ACP and 38 Special and it's all held up well. My brother has also bought their 6.5 Creedmore and 30-06 brass and was impressed with the quality of their rifle brass too.

Their brass is considered the gold standard by many of us. I use their 38 super and 45 colt. I’ve never had a problem.

I find the nickel plated are a little stronger than the all brass. Shooting major loads in 38 super in a supported chamber, I don’t think I’ve ever split a nickel case.

I've purchased their 357 Mag., 38 Super and 10mm. Never had a problem with their brass. Top of the line brass as far as I'm concerned.

I don't even bother looking at any other brand of brass as I only load the 44 calibers these days.

Their very first run of 444 was a little rough but they straightened that right out.
It mostly involved some lube getting baked inside during annealing because a wash step was missed or done wrong.
No real biggie.
After Remington quit making the 444, Starline stepped in and saved the day.
Hornady brass is way too expensive.

Out of thousands of their cases I have bought, only 1 was broken.
Must have hit the flash-hole punch sideways.
I sent them a picture and they sent me another box free.
Excellent service.

Starline got their start by making Midway headstamped brass before marketing cases on their own.
Those are good too and I am still using them 30 years later.

Awhile back I ordered 500 pieces of 44mag brass. Upon it arriving I opened the box and started inspecting the brass. picked 20 random pieces of brass out and started taking a hard look at them.

Cheap electronic scale: brass +/- 1gr
flash holes uniform & round
primer pockets tight (10 federal went in with hand took/10 cci mag used press)
trim length +/- 1/1000th's

The only thing I saw was a little chatter in the inside of the rim of the case with a 5x loop. The lyman m-die expander took them out but I decided to use a chamfer tool and took did a quick pass with it inside and outside.

2 years ago I bought 2000 pieces of 357mad brass from starline. Had the same results as above.

If I have to buy brass for the revolvers I look no further then starline.

Probably the best brass made in the U.S. Fair warning, primer pockets may be a little tight the first few times you load them.

Starline Brass is outstanding! Besides the common pistol and rifle brass, they also produce the not so common. 38-55, both lengths, 40-65, 50-70 Government, 50-90, just to name a few. They are the "Go TO" place for the black powder cartridge riflemen.

The Starline .357 mag and .38 special I bought were all within SAAMI length spec. and a delight to load.

However, I bought ~400 45 Colt, 200 at two different times, to load 255gr lead SWC. That cartridge needs a good roll crimp. For a good roll crimp, case length needs to be consistent. I measured my cases, found them to be mostly in the lower quartile of SAAMI spec, 5% were under SAAMI spec, and a few were actually longer. The SAAMI spec has a .020" range, and my length range was .030", quite a lot of length variation. I don't mind trimming brass, because, for my reloading I trim new brass to length to get off to a good start, but 5% of these were as much as .007" too short and I tossed them.
To Starline's credit, once trimmed, their weight variation case to case was nil, the diameters were dead on, no problems with primer pockets and I'd buy them again.

Sometimes I wonder about giving up on 45 Colt and sticking with .38 and .45ACP.

I have bought 1000 each in 38sp, 357 mag, and 44 mag. Doubt I will ever need to buy any again. When people give me brass I will either load it for them or sell it off and split the funds with them. One friend that shoots factory stuff that is loaded in Starline, always saves it for me because he does not load. I take care of him with accessories here and there because he continues to buy the same factory ammo for consistency.

I have no Starline nor have loaded any. Is what most of you is saying that Starline is better brass than Win, Fed or Rem? I have tons of brass but if I run into a need I always bust my but to find one of these 3 in order they are listed. The major companies have discontinued many quasi popular cartridges.

Yes to your question on Starline being better than those you have listed. I have run into more cracked mouths and side splits with WW than any other brand. I sell or trash every piece of WW I run across.

Once a piece of new Starline has been loaded twice, I no longer include the brass as part of my loading expense. I have lots that has seen more than 10 loadings. Makes even 44 mag cheap to shoot.

It is very good brass. Consistent. But comparing it to other brands just opens up a big can of worms! Kinda like what is the "best" powder, bullet, case lube, cleaner etc etc.

So folks are very obsessive about brass. For range blasting, to me brass is brass. It all works (except a few junk brands) I do not buy new brass other then a few time. I bough some Starline 10mm

I’m aware of what Starline has, just never bought any. Came close on 375w but lucked out and got new WW brass. I’m wondering if the quality of the major brands has slipped since Obama Panic. Everything else has from 22rf to CF rifle and pistol ammo.

I could not find a receipt, but judging from bullet and slug ball purchases and reload date, summer 2016.

Just as a matter of historical information, Sierra bullets and Starline brass both moved to Sedalia MO from California about 30 yrs. ago. They are clearly sister companies but I can't say they're under the same ownership. I have visited both factories.

Those of us that like to compete with revolvers(primarily S&Ws) use Starline 38 Short Colt brass exclusively for handloading. I defy anyone to find NIB 38 Short Colt ammo so we all handload with Starline brass. Some of my brass is at least 12 years old and still going strong.

I have used Starline brass in 32 S&W Long, 32 H&R Mag, and 222 Remington. Great quality, no issues and will most likely outlast me. Starline produces many less common calibers. I recommend Starline brass without reservations.

I use Starline brass in 32 long, H&R, 327, 357mag, 357max, 10mm, 41 mag, 44sp, 44 mag, 445sm, 45 colt, 454 casull, and 500 mag. Oh yes and 45-70.

I have zero complaints and zero reason to buy brass of any other make.

I have been using it for a few years now and it gives excellent performance.
That's all I order now.

I was a winchester brass fan until the last batch I ordered. I had used mainly winchester brass for my .223 for many years when I was a high power competitor and it never let me down. I also used winchester in my handgun ammo and last month, I ordered 400 of 9mm winchester brass. When I got them, most of them had primer pocket flash holes that were keyhole shaped and the primer pockets were very shallow. Using a sinclair carbide primer pocket uniformer, I got the primer pockets to the correct depth and I was able to seat my CCI primers. It turned out that the keyhole did not penetrate all the way through the primer pocket. After I uniformed the primer pockets, I looked into the case and the flash holes were uniformly round. So I have reloaded 300 of them with the last 100 already primed and ready to reload. I have never had this problem with ANY brass so I will not order winchester brass again. I just received starline and sig brass for my 9mm and the primer pockets look real good. Not like the winchester. Just my 2 cents worth.

Far better imo. I only buy theirv10mm brass & all my magnum hangun is Starline. Brass quality from the majors has been declining for years. I just wish they made more rifke brass, but they do make a few.

Comparing brass is actually pretty simple. Run the same loads in say 5 pieces of each, track the number of times it is loaded. Then compare data. Based on that, I avoid Federal rifle brass & iffy on their magnum handgun stuff. Identical loads in other brands were fine but enlarged primer pockets showed up in 2-3 Firings in Fed even their GMM brass.
RP handgun brass is well known for being thinner in the case mouth. For 45acp, I cant load 0.451" jacketed in RP brass, I get setbacks. So brass can be fairly compared imo.

fredj338, you've not visited their rifle brass page lately then. They have expanded their rifle brass offerings quite a bit over the last year or so. They are even offering brass for 224 Valkyrie, 277 Wolverine, and many other kind of obscure calibers besides the normal offerings such as 30-06 or 308.

I am a fan of Starline. This is the only new brass I purchase for my pistols.

If I ever have to buy new brass, Starline is my first choice.

Like lots of reloaders, I'm as cheap as anyone. I try to find as much once fired or good condition range brass I can find to feed my plinking and casual shooting needs.
Then for my target loads, I like to shoot new ammo (cuz I know its' history) for the most part.
BUT, I don't have an easy time finding good .357 brass, so I have just taken delivery on an order of 1000 Starline .357 Mag cases. I've bought from them before and was already impressed with the consistent quality of the brass, and this recent order is just the same.
So I'm not good enough to state that Starline is the "best" brass you can find, but it's certainly as good as the best I've come across.

When I was cowboy action shooting with two Ruger Vaqeros in .44-40 the only brass that worked (ejected!) was Starline. Excellent brass. I had a pro reloading for me but that's secondary to the point.

I use Starline rifle brass for my .223, .30-06 and .45-70. I use their handgun brass for .32 ACP, .380 Auto, .38 Special, .357 Magnum, .41 Magnum, .44 Magnum and .45 AR. I don't use Starline for my .45 ACP because my Kimber ejects it into the next county, and I'm too cheap to buy good brass for other folks.
