A question about bullet feeders

I have been using Dillon machines for quite a while but have never used a bullet feeder. All I have ever looked at would only work with jacketed bullets. I used mostly cast bullets. I'm just wondering if the "newer pqwder coated" or other types can be used in the bullet feeder? If they can I think I will get one for the 1050. I actually have an RCBS feeder for 223(5.56) I have never used. One day I will either sell it or set it up on the 750. Never really needed it yet though as I haven't loaded more than a 1000 at a time. 45 auto and 38/357 ar a different story. How bout it...anyone here used a feeder with coated bullets??

Dillon markets a bullet feeder made by someone else. But they should be able to answer the question or yell you who can.

Many bullet feeders are convertible, maybe you just need a few parts for your 223 feeder.

I almost bought one few years ago But the company stated at the time to only use jacketed with it. I also have a Hornady Ammo Plant that has a feeder but I can't get that machine to work consistently....so it is back in the box. I just kinda lost patience with the darn thing. I think the feeder instructions said jacketed only...it's still in the box. Cal change for the RCBS? I don't know...but will check

I've had prolonged problems with Hornady equipment too. Spit the bad taste from your mouth and move on with what works. You wont know until you do one of two things, A) ask questions, or B) set it up and try for yourself!

Think I'm going to try one of the Mr Bullet Feeders. I asked a few questions on their contact page.no answer yet but the hi tek coated don't leave lube everywhere. I have a couple thousand cast bullets to load in 38s first them I'll use the Hiteks and jacketed. Then I will have to get some coated 45s to load

I have the Mr. Bullet Feeder on my 1050 and use mainly coated Bayou bullets as well as Xtreme copper plated and it works fantastic!

Thanks for the report on the MBF for the 1050. I can try one of them on the 1050 then switch it to the 750. I will need to get some coated 45 bullets as I surely don't have enough jacketed . I got a couple thousand 45 once fired cases today 2 1/2 cents each..If I can find some coated bullets fairly soon I can get them all loaded. I already have 10 primer tubes loaded with CCI primers. Have to see how soon I can get a Bullet Feeder
