Default EUREKA!!!

Just about everyday I make the rounds looking for ammo and reloading components. I’ve had good luck finding LPP, LMPP, LRP and LMRP; however, SPP have been absent from shelves since March. Today’s visit to Sportsman’s Warehouse yielded a pleasant surprise. I brought home 3 bricks! Unfortunately, the only pistol powder remaining was Winchester WST. It’s far from my favorite, but it’ll work for light 38 Special and 45 acp loads.

LUCKY!!!!!! I would have bought all of them... I got into Hand Loading at the beginning of this whole fiasco and i'm down to 1k,SPP left... Most of my components have dried as well(brass, projectiles), with the acception of 9MM which I quite frankly don't enjoy reloading for some reason...

Anyways good find sir!

Do you know how jealous I am right now? Or maybe I'll consider it a ray of hope. I saw a whole pallet of 9mm ammo today. First I have seen in months.

I wish but they had a limit and I didn’t want to be a total donkey. I’ll check back first thing in the morning, but I doubt there will be any left.

What a deal! Not only did you find some, but look at that price!!
I can't recall the last time I saw primers under 3 cents each, or $30/1000.

Default time machine?

Did you find a time machine to go back to pre Sandy Hook?

Have not seen primers that cheap anywhere since then.

How do you figure that? There was a limit of three

Do you buy primers one (sleeve of 100) at a time?

Default Price!

I seen that price in the picture and almost dropped my cup! The last case of pistol primers I ordered at my friends shop cost me $17 and change per thousand! I can use Federal primers only and load for 12 handgun calibers!
Why not buy primers by the case, when they are available! That's not hoarding that's called planning ahead!

This morning I was the early bird at Sportsman’s Warehouse, who got what was left of the worm. I was able to snag the remaining two, 100 count packs of Federal Match small magnum pistol primers and another brick of large pistol primers to add to the 3000 I picked up last week. Now I need to find some Unique and Bullseye.

I think lots of guys overlook the Federals because the box is huge. I know I did because they were right next to shotgun primers. On second glance I noticed, and two different times/days I was able to buy the limit of 400. Sad to say mine were $3.79 per 100 though.

Pigsah:“And that, boys and girls, is how ammo and component shortages are born...”

Hey, I played by the rules. If I were a donkey I could have come back, grabbed another 3000 and went to a different cashier; or brought the whole family, with each member buying 3000.

Good for you, CH4,. I'm glad to see this post because it shows that there are SOME primers getting to the retail level And still at reasonable prices. I'm set pretty well with small pistol and rifle primers, but would be happy to find large pistol and rifle primers.

A Hoarder is someone that plans ahead better than the complainer! A Donkey is the guy that cleans the shelves every or twice a day!

I haven't bought primers since 2010 but I bought 30 or 35 K that year. I buy in bulk, load in bulk and shoot in bulk, I also need to plan ahead to do so!

Ivan

Thanks for only taking three! Hopefully a couple other shooters had a great day as well.

All the Reno store had was Win large rifle and Win 209 primers.
Pretty slim pickings.

Sportsman's has always had low prices on primers, and probably why their shelves were sparse even before this scamdemic started. Before they totally dried up I managed to snag several bricks of both Federal and CCI small pistol primers as late as last month. CCI was around $27 per as I recall.

Yep, last week I visited the Reno and CC stores. No ammo, primers, powders, etc. I called Scheels and they were dry.
