Default Sierra aquires Barnes

Interesting to see Sierra has acquired the Barnes assets through bidding from the Remington bankruptcy.

I see that as a win for the industry in general, or at least not a net loss.

I'd have to agree. I'm not impressed with the accuracy of the Barnes rifle bullets I've tried. They're not awful, just nothing special. Sierra bullets have given me better results.

Interesting. I've never shot a bullet by Barnes so I have no idea about their accuracy or downrange performance. Sierra must have seen something there though or they wouldn't have spent the money. We'll see.

Could be as simple as getting the manufacturing equipment at a bargain.

As far as revolver fodder goes, Barnes is noted for their solid copper bullets and this would add to Sierra's line-up.
I have used (sparingly) the "XPB" hollow point 44 solids and the 300gr "Buster" which is a heavy FP-FMJ for dangerous game or silhouette.
They work but are expensive and won't stabilize in 38" twist 444 or 44 rifles.
If I had to kill a truck with the .445 Encore, the Buster would be called upon but otherwise not-so-much.
The 300gr. cast WFNGC is way cheaper and more versatile.
On the other hand Sierra is my favorite mainstream jacketed 44 bullet maker.
Sierra-Starline is a class outfit.

It may be awhile before we see what happens to Barnes, Marlin, Remington, Western Powders, and all the other companies getting rebooted.
Let's hope they don't just die.
I am afraid some will eventually.
For instance, Colt has been kind of a zombie for years IMHO.
