Longshot Loads in 460S&W, 300gr hardcast
In the 460S&W, I've tried Longshot with 200gr FTXs, but I can't find load data for 300gr projectiles. There must be a downside to this combo. Anyone tried it and willing to provide suggestions for a starting load? H110 is my go-to powder; mostly, I'm just curious.

You can use Longshoot but as you surmised it is a poor choice and will not produce much velocity.
Would suggest 4227, 1680, Lil'gun as well as H110 as better choices.

For reduced loads?
Speer #14 lists Power Pistol with their 300gr UCSP (Uni-Core Soft Point) bullets. They start at 18.0gr & go to 20.0gr max.
Power Pistol & Longshot are very close in burn rate. I've used both in reduced 460 loads, 255gr & lighter, but never tried them with a 300gr bullet.
I'd suggest starting at 15.0gr, if you're looking for reduced loads with it, & work up.

Thanks for the comments Ruggy and BD37. Maybe I'll just let this one go.

Ive heard this powder called LOUDShot, and after loading it in 45 ACP, 357, 38+P and 9mm ; I know why. Although a great powder which Ive found some super accurate loads for these cartridges, jeezus this powder has a a loud report. Could not imagine the report off a 460 45 ACP with 185 grain and LOUDShot shot so awesome in my Ruger P95 I was sold. until i shot 5 w/o hearing protection (do not have ear plugs when carrying) my ears rang for a day

If you think it is loud in a pistol load............................
Try it in a 12 Ga. 1 1/8 ounce, 3 Dram load and see if the boys and girls in the area, take notice !!

I've read this numerous times, and I use Longshot frequently but never noticed a difference in increased report.
