Small pistol primers?
Out of curiosity, has anyone seen small pistol primers hitting the shelves recently? If so, how outlandish have the prices been?
As always, thanks in advance for your help!

They trickle in at a LGS but not in sufficient quantity to quell the madness. Proprietor limits sales. I guess that's good news. Sinister forces are not buying all of them. I like to think I'm sensible for cutting way back on my wanton blasting to conserve a meaningful stash, then let the economy and politics play out.

I was absolutely shocked 'n amazed to see a sleeve of 5,000 SP primers sell for $2,150 on an auction site! That's just crazy!

A large local reloading shop here gets them periodically but they go in an hour.

Small anything....
....that is normally used for defense is not to be found.
I'll just have step up and use Large Pistol and Large Rifle Primers for my defensive needs.
Is 45-70 a good home defense cartridge?

Aside form the "real" problems in getting Primers, one large contributing factor is that many who have "inside access" to Primers before the general public does, scoff them up and sell them on auction sites for many many times more than they paid. I know for a fact that at least some employees will text their friends to come in and buy the Store's limit - and then they go partners selling them for huge additional mark ups. This is adding fuel to the fire!

My sister in law had 6 1000 count boxes of CCI Small Pistol primers on the shelf her late husband had. She showed them to me & told me to take them if I needed them. I did. I offered to pay her but she wouldn't take a cent. So I took them & a lot of other stuff!

Have not seen any primers on LGS shelves in months. And I expect more of the same.

Yes, when marauding bison and moose attack.....
And just a reminder, in less than a month, a fat guy will be on your roof. Please identify your target before ruining the day for the kids.

Did you not understand the 2nd and the 19th letter of the alphabet, as well as "CAJUNLAWYER's" overt suggestion?

Well, yeah, if your home is a teepee in the prairie and you're plagued by wild buffalo.

Several posts deleted for political comments. If you won't take time to read the rules or think they don't apply to you, you're going to dinged - BIG TME.

Is this shortage just in the US? Just looked at a website for a Canadian company that had considerable stock of S&B primers of all types.. no shipping to the US, however.
