Default Fluorescent Lighting and Digital Scales

Anyone have issues with digital scales used under fluorescent lights ?

If so, would changing the bulbs to ballast compatible LED solve the issue or do you have to bypass the ballast as well as change out the bulbs.

I think my digital scale was damaged by the lighting and want to swap out the bulbs, but really don't want to mess with bypassing the ballast.

On a side note, what digital scale do you use / recommend? I want it to cross check with my mechanical scale and since I have to buy a new one might as well get some input form the experts.

Thanks for any info.

I always install some ferrite beads on the power supply wires going to the digital scale.
Absorbs a lot of the high frequency interference that is generated by fluorescents and dimmers.
Recommend you use incandescent lamps if possible, not dimmed.
I use and like the GemPro 250 scale but it's been discontinued.
I started with a Lyman but it didn't have the resolution I was looking for.
The plastic buttons got sticky too.
Still have it but don't use it for powder.

They are all temperature sensitive and should be turned on well in advance of use.
Leave it on all the time if used frequently.
Avoid drafts like measuring under the air duct.

I have an old 4 ft. fluorescent hanging directly over my bench and plugged into the same outlet as my scales. I use a Pact Precision, Gempro 250, and a RCBS Chargemaster Lite and have had no issues with either scale. I've read and feel lucky to not have issues while others say they do. I believe it may be because this circuit is isolated and not being used by any other appliances such as refrigerators etc. ??? Plus scales are in a room with little or no drafts.
