After getting a pound of Red Dot in town yesterday, I took about a 40 minute drive today to get 2 lbs. of Bullseye for 29.00 ea. More than I'm used to paying, but not too bad. Tickled to get it.

Nice find!
Finding ammo and reloading components (especially bullseye, unique and SPPs) is like an Easter egg hunt, but better. Today, while visiting my local Walmart, I scored a pound of IMR4064 and 1000 CCI LRPs; I was there for Tums and mouthwash.

Can't find any powder in any gun store here. Stuck with on-line ordering. NO ONE has Bullseye, so you did well. I just bought some Titegroup because it's the closest thing I can find anywhere. I'm actually looking forward to trying it. See how it compares.

Sheesh, my local guy has had BE on sale with several other powders for $15. I don't use it but was tempted to start.

Still hard to beat Bullseye for several applications .
During the 2013 shortage Bullseye was nowhere to be found but I spotted 3 - 1 lb. containers of Red Dot on a shelf ... so I bought one , not wanting to be a "hoarder" .
Discovered Red Dot is a very useful powder for a lot of things... the next time I saw Bullseye , I stocked up on it and when more Red Dot hit the shelf ... I became a hoarder !

My thought is if you can't get Bullseye ... Red Dot will stand in very well ... it's great to have both !

I like Bullseye and Red Dot. Unique is another Powder I like.
Alliant American Select has been good to me too.

I recently found and bought 1 pound bottle of Unique. I think
I took their last one, went back to buy another, their little
sign said "Out".

I use a lot of Red Dot (45Colt, 44Mag, 44Spl), and I'm good
for quite awhile.

I've been using BE for my .38 Special target loads for nearly 50 years. One of the good things about it is that at 2.8 gr per round (equivalent to about 2500 rounds/pound) it almost doesn't matter what it costs!

W231 falls into the same category as B/E and R/D!

Got that beat. I have been loading 32S&W Longs with the ancient - 1930's load of a 98 grain lead swc sitting on 2.0 grains of Bullseye. By my figuring it works out to 3,500 rounds per pound. I cast my own 98 grain SWC's from wheel weights; so it is probably cheaper to shoot them than 22LR.

Only bought powder in 8 lb. containers once (EACH) before: WIN 231 & Accurate #5...

Found some 8 lb. BULLSEYE available last month and jumped on it!

Based upon some of the more current threads it looks like my normal 9mm & 38 Special needs are covered for quite a while...?

In my neck of the woods powder is fairly easy to get and fairly cheap, i.e. under $30 per pound. Although right now 231 is not so easy to find. Primers on the other hand.........

I still have one or two of those from the 1970's. I loaded some in .38 wadcutters last April, and it still worked just fine

Until recently I've used both Unique and Bullseye from the early 80's and I agree; all went bang like it was supposed to.

Over 100 years in production! That says something. Still one of the most useful powders for handgun applications, particularly range and practice ammo with cast bullets in most of the popular calibers.

I still have 3. And still using this one.

I remember back in the Obummer days seeing Bullseye on the shelf for $50/lb and it sold. Be glad those days are over.

I am truly out to lunch with the current prices of reloading supplies. Last time I reloaded for shotgun I paid $18 for a thousand primers, $12 for a thousand wads, $10 for a 25#bag of shot and $6 for a pound of powder. And that was only 20 years ago. Then I got lazy and started buying cheap gun club shells and let them fly.
I did some loading for 38/357 and used 3 grains of Red Dot for target loads. The charges were so small that I considered the cost of powder negligible as compared to 19 grains for 12 ga.

Since 1976, I've used Bullseye, Unique and H110. That bottle of Red Dot out there was a just in case buy.

I just gave my brother a pound of Hercules Unique powder so he can keep shooting his new 357 lever rifle. I added some SWC bullets and some jacketed too. He's happy

Bullseye is my powder of choice for 38 special loads , either 148 gr wadcutters (2.8grs) or 158 gr semi wadcutters (3.5grs) . Is it the cleanest shooting powder ? NO , it's not but I am not looking for the cleanest , just the most accurate . Beyond Bullseye , then I go to either Unique or WSF . Regards Paul

It has been a while since I bought any reloading components. Is that a fair market price? That is approaching the price of Vhitavouri in the not too distant past.

The last Bullseye I bought was a few years ago, an 8 lb keg for around $14-$15 per lb.

I happen to have 15 or so lbs of Bullseye and have never used any to speak of Got plenty of other pistolshotgun powders. I have mostly used other shotgun powders for most handgun use over the years. Maybe I can find someone to take the 3- four pound BE's off my hands at the gun show this weekend. I have used much Red and Green Dots Unique Herco and 2400 in years past. A lot of 231/HP38 these days, but did buy 2- 8lb kegs of Herco for 40 bucks each.. Loads good in mid range 44 mag loads

I first started reloading in 1972. Back then, I didn’t even know there were powders other than Bullseye and Unique. I still use them today. However, during the crunch of 2014, it was impossible to find powder or primers, and I was fortunate to find a man who was a manufacturer of competition 45s He had a special license that allowed him to buy powder and primers in bulk. I’m talking really bulk......powder in 40 lb kegs and cases and cases of primers. He sold me the only powder he used which was TieGroup, And I bought 15 lbs of it @ $15.00 a pound. I had to bring my own containers and we weighed it out. I have since become very fond of TiteGroup; I have loaded many, many Thousands of rounds and I have used them with cast bullets and have never had a problem. When Bullseye, unique, and primers became available again, I built up a nest egg and have enough to get me through the current crisis. I learned my lesson.

I started handloading back in the early 70s. Many evenings at the coffee table with Bullseye, Alcan Primers, wadcutters and a Lee Loader. Pounded out a lot of rounds that way.

I've got over 5 pounds each of the old trifecta - Bullseye, Unique, and 2400, and also Clays, 700x, and AA#2.
I have 3 pounds or more each of American Select, Power Pistol, 296, H-110, and w231.
I just picked up a sealed 4 pound jug of Ramshot Silhouette for $68. I've read good things about it and figured that for $17 a pound it is worth having.

Is that a fair market price? I bought 2 or 3 lbs. a year ago at 20.00 lb. But, these are crazy times. As these 2 lbs. will yield me about 4000 rds of 45 auto rim, it's almost a moot point.

Right now pretty much any useful powder you can get for under $30 a pound is good, under $25 is great IMO.
